i feel spyro is getting a bit out of character in comparison to the games, cause he was forgiving of cynder, and Zonoya, but he cant forgive her son because of what his father did/ who he was? heck he wasnt even too mad at malefor to begin with in the games.
again, this is just my opinion, but as long as the story keeps going well like it is, ill will tolerate it X3

You have to take into account he is a father now, though. My sister was very laid back and passive until she had her daughter, and she's insanely protective of my niece. People change when their offspring are involved. And you have to account that Spyro has a pretty cruddy childhood, he never got to play or anything because he was always fighting evil. It's possible he's so over-reactant because he feels a need to shelter his daughter from anything slightly bad so that she can have that childhood he didn't.
i still dont agree, protecting is only one thing out any many for wanting whats best for a child, what should be the most impotent is being a fatherly figure to the kid and being mature and grown up even if you dont like it, you set a example for your child to follow, spyro never hated malfore, he only hated that what he was doing was putting everyone in danger and he took care of that, attacking malfores kid i hardly see as protecting his family and having delusions and panic attacks mearly hearing about malfore or his kid.. , its a kid, if anything i think being the purple dragon hero he is he would take in melfores kid and try and set him right
While i do agree that the story is out of character for some, there are some factors that still make sense. And not all parents are wonderful caretakers as soon as a child is born. And Spyro does have delusions and panic attacks, but you have to go back to his crappy past once again. I mean if all your life you were battling evil and trying to prevent danger to everyone you loved on a semi constant basis, wouldn't you be a little edgy when someone or something even hinted at being a danger? I mean crud.. if I was in this position I'd be flipping my lid too, especially since Nina didn't even tell her parents where she was really going. Fear from not knowing where your child is, then finding them at a place you told them not to go, then finding that they were hurt (albeit not seriously) might be too much for an already overly stressed person. Then again we can't really over analyze it.. it's just a cute story by a spyro fan, right?
it's just one persons interpenetration. i don't see why it has to match up to that of others or even be entirely fitting with official material. i can understand why it may bother some, but surely there is no cause to feel insulted? i know if i were to do a fan comic with i don't know, tails the fox from sonic the hedgehog, i'd change his personality to suit my initial impression of him along with some personal changes. i am sure a number of hardcore fans would be unhappy about it, but it would be what i wanted to do, and what i would be most comfortable / creative with. one could argue i shouldn't use the characters at all if i was going to do that, but if it's what i want to do, i don't see much harm.
-) I can respect the reasons too, don't think I don't see that option. But I just express the opinion it is not right to use the characters to do the bidding of a melodramatic, mediocre story; rather then pay tribute to them. It's all fine and dandy to use them in fan-fic; which is why I my-self have even faved fan-fic art on numerous occasions.
-) However, Spyro's character is so far abridged and mis-sharpen, it completely denotes him as nothing more than a purple dragon with a similar name. I don't like it because Spyro was originally a marvelous character; I wish Shalonesk would show a bit more respect then this comic. But, to each their own, I'm not disrespecting her, but implying I really dislike what she is doing here. I like this comic still, somewhat, which is why I continue to read it, and give criticism, as she is an artist, and not exempt from it because of her fan-base.
