My next layers are usually another shading separate from my hard shade, which is usually...harder because I have to constantly resize the airbrush tool and erasing is not an option (I'm sure there are more competent, talented artists who would read this and tell me to suck it up, which I agree wholeheartedly). Then there's shine which is the easiest, so I guess that balances everything out.
