Time for some fan art again.
Originally started somewhere about a month or so ago, something I put a line on here and there between sending out commission WIP's and working on the next Forest Tails page. Before anybody wonders, no this is not a spoiler of any kind, just me and some others I know of living the most impossible shipping impulse.
No, I don't think the actual canon will ever have Hemlock's animosity subside enough to allow for even a cordial relationship with Rask, but then shipping is rarely ever about what's canon anyway, so sue me :b

I'm in the same case. I know that ship is completely impossible, and still it makes some weird sense... I don't even know why, but there's something in the way Hemlock is so obsessive, so extreme with her hatred for him, and how he in turn resents her in an obsessive way too... They also seem to have a part of masochism in them, by the way they bear their guilt and suffering. They're pretty alike in fact...
I can strangely see them in a in-out, unhealthy (toxic) relationship, with a cycle of hate-fucking and break ups.
I think I read somewhere that past a point hatred and love are impossible to distinguish...

I think it has something to do with the fact that they have a rather similar history, at least in some respects, and I feel that could be a window for both of them to reconcile with said history and their disdain for eachother, albeit looking at the most recent developments, Rask does not hate, he just resents. Hemlock is a different story.
As I said a little further above, I remember hearing about the love/hate ambiguity too, but I never looked into the deeper sciences of it.

I really love the use of lighting, their expressions (especially Rasks eyes) and how you have Rask nuzzling into her neck whilst embracing her. The texture of their fur looks so velvety.
Who knows maybe they could become close. When prejudice and fear are put aside anything can happen. Once again amazing work Ipoke💖⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍

In retrospect (and I said this to Teagan too) I feel Rask's expression is a little roo aggressive as opposed to how I feel he would be in a situation like this as a character, but it is what it is now and it works well enough for the picture :3

This is an absolute delight! Their expressions, the way he holds her so possessively and/or tenderly, the way her mouth opens up just so... and all under a perfect starlit sky. Beautiful, beautiful work.
I couldn't help but notice that this is exactly where predators bite rabbits to kill them. Crazy trust going on there from Hemlock.
Oh, and both of these characters clearly have a way to go yet in the story, so who knows what might come to pass? I reckon Rask might actually end up with a secret admiration for the ferocious, undaunted Helmock.

I'm glad all the little details shine, at least all the things I wanted to have carry over, including the position of the bite ... anything happening between these two would have to involve huge amounts of trust on both sides. I wouldn't be surprised if Hems kept her "tooth" nearby X3

I do have a thing for pred/prey relations. X3 Can add a bit of spice to things, especially if there's a bit of hunting roleplay added for that hint of danger.
I'm no stranger to crackships either. There's a couple MLP characters I like to ship, even though there's probably no way they'd ever hook up. XD Especially when one of them is a villain known for cruelty and enslavement.
