Words with no human equivalent -- a language felt but not seen.
Something I've been working on for a few weeks when I felt inspired to. I've been working with a new therapist the last month and so many gateways are opening, memories coming back, nightmares being thrown under light -- facing my shadow.
In all the years that I've struggled with depression and anxiety, chronic pain and illness, a diagnosis is both a relief and a burden. It gives me understanding in why I use and love music, gives a voice to the trauma I cannot process or forget. C-PTSD is hard, its ugly, its terrifying, it explains why I am and do what I do. It gives answers where I didn't have them before, and my therapist gives me the guidance and strength to combat it. I won't ever be cured of it, but to learn to manage it. To learn to cope, and speaking in my own language -- that is where healing begins.
To speak in a language no one knows but my own soul, to create and to Be.
