I love putting in little details around the edges of the frame. I also did that to suggest the way memories often have some extraneous details that aren’t quite part of the main scene, but your brain remembers them just as much. Unlike a movie director your brain doesn’t know what’s “germane to the scene” so just imprints everything. And a tiny background detail can be quite vivid as a memory trigger. Thanks for noticing!

I hope this doesn't come across as too weird, but this is definitely the kind of art piece where you wish scent could be incorporated. Whether it's the food, the dish soap or even the mother's fragrance, those kind of scents can play a big part of memory recall!
