My first attempt at hair/fur in Blender. It's nothing more than a basic UV sphere with an orange colored material to give the fur some color.
I'm so trying to learn Blender and a lot of the things I'll need to do to model a 3D character and more.

Just this much isn't too hard. I just did a search for hair blender on YouTube and found a basic tutorial. One thing I gotta look at is making fur patterns, like stripes and just color variations. You can even brush the hair when you put Blender into Particle Edit mode. Brush, puff and other things. I didn't even know that was there.
I'm trying to get back into Blender after a long time away from learning. In late 2016 and into early 2018, I had worked 55+ hour weeks for nearly two years. As it happened, I had just started to learn how to block model a humanoid body. Then I just stopped because of that overtime. I've been afraid to resume because I fear it happening again and don't want waste time.
So, I thought I'd get the basics on other things first, like basic modeling, texturing, modifiers and such before I resume trying to model a character.

I know the feeling. When I started to play with Blender, it was back in the 2.78 version. The interface was a jumbled mess and it was so intimidating to even look at. It took a few years for me to even wanna try it. I decided to use Sketchup, which was best for architectural and non-organic modeling. Do do rendering and organic modeling, I needed various extensions and such to do what Blender does natively.
After the 2.8 revision, Blender just looked and felt less intimidating. I likened to being like modern photoshop in terms of it's look.
Now, I'm slowly getting back into it. I even did a cube that was hit by a wireframe modifier, subsurface modifier and another wireframe. Kind of cool looking, even if it's a simple thing.
