I have had this piece in my files for a while with no will to really post it. But recently we had two others move on from this world and into the next. One from old age and another YOUNG person from this retched virus Covid.
I am posting this in remembrance for not only all those I have lost this year alone, too many to count, but for others as well. Rather that be from Covid or from natural/unnatural causes.
I can't tell you how many times I have had to keep my cries silent and stay strong for my family, but it is thanks to art that I am able to express my pain. I cry on the inside, scream for it all to be a lie. That the person that is proclaimed dead is just telling me some cruel joke. But I am still alive and though I miss all those that are buried deep in the ground this year dearly I continue on and be strong. I put a smile on my face, hide the tears, and tell everyone it is going to be ok. Because it is. Yes it hurts, yes it can be hard, but we must not defile the memories of the dead by giving up our own lives.
To 2020, as it continues to take lives, and may we remember all the good times we had with those that have passed.
But cherish those still alive, because not every day is a guarantee and we never know what the future holds.
