While on the subject of original daikaiju, after I learned that TokyoPOP's yearly "Rising Stars of Manga" contest would never accept parody characters like Mazinger Zoe, I created my Academy setting (where Tracy and Maisy exist) and began transferring several of my K-Girls over to it.
As part of the background/origin of the setting and the entire "kaijumorph" concept, though, I realized I needed to create some original daikaiju, including one that could serve as the Godzilla of my world...once more diving back into my old defunt superhero concepts (such as what spawned Knightowl), I took and old semi-comedic supervillain named King Lizard whose powers are derived from the costume he wore playing the title character in a Japanese "rubber monster suit stomps on models" movie...so, why not make my main daikaiju the one King Lizard was portraying?
While the original monster was called Kaiser Dragoon, I figgered us worthless gaijin would bastardize it into its English translation since the Academy itself is located in the USA...besides, since they had already announced the main baddy in "Godzilla: Final Wars" was named Kaiser Ghidorah, I felt a need to re-distance it from the original daikaiju movies again.
Oh, and ignore the tiny tank...it's way out of scale.
