The explanation was quite clear: the evening parties ("soirées festives") were responsible of the virus spread.
Yet, for obvious economic reasons, keeping working would remain a priority to avoid a new recession.

I manage to go at my work place only 2 days a week and I avoid the rush hours.
Most of my work is done from home (using a virtual machine).
I planed to go on vacation in Brittany next week yet I cancelled it.
I prefer not to move across the Country not to spread the virus (if I got it).
I am living in Paris were the situation is amongst the most concerning.

It depends of the work... as an engineer (working in a Research lab) most of my work is to design algorithm and process that aim to replace human operators: so I improve the performance of my "company" and create more unemployment and, therefore, social pressure in a society were the fact of having a job is considered as a value that places you above the unemployed person.
I am wondering if I am actually serving a "useful purpose"...

People didn't wind up with nothing to do despite two centuries of vast technological changes. Agricultural work is now largely done by machines, telephones and computers have largely eliminated the need for messengers, and computers and robots cannot replace humans in most instances.
