Crescendo isn't quite a normal skunk. He found, as he grew up, he had a bit of a talent for singing. Not just any normal singing, though. But a special kind, as whenever he did, he found that anyone within his vicinity was drawn towards him, enthralled by the song. At first, he found it quite a neat trick, enjoying the audiences that gathered around him.
And then, he experimented, finding out that not only can he 'subtly redirect' furs under his control to whatever he wants them to do, he can also gulp up any fur he wants, preferably those with a good singing voice, and as they're stored as a part of him, their voice is added to his music. One can see whom Crescendo has as a part of him, though, as they're usually on display as a set of tattoos/markings on his belly.
Mind, if he eats up furs, it's only because he needs backup or additional singers. 9 times out of 10, anyone within Crescendo is released afterwards. The other 1 time, is only if the skunk is feeling 'particularly' hungry. Otherwise, he has a normal, hearty appetite, keeping his round belly round.
The skunk has a happy, playful demeanour around him, usually easing those who see a fat skunk and assume 'danger'. The only time this is disrupted and one may worry, is if he is starving. Then, he may be a little more tricksy to get his belly full.
