We just surpassed $25,000 in the Slightly Damned Kickstarter, so here's another bonus update! The comic will also update on Saturday as usual. The next bonus update will unlock if we reach $30,000, again at $35,000, and again if Book Three is funded by reaching our stretch goal of $40,000!

Also, I know exactly what you are thinking when you see that last panel: pocket sand. Don't worry, I already made the edit: https://twitter.com/sdamned/status/.....93860958629888

Kieri's realized that the best way to beat her brother is to fight smarter, not harder. Kazai's strong both physically and magically, but his headstrong nature and adherence to the training he received has made him rigid and inflexible -- using his surroundings to his advantage would never have occurred to him, but Kieri's picked up some tactical tricks from watching Rhea fight, and she knows her brother's fighting style well enough to know what weaknesses to exploit.
Case in point: that fistful of ash. Simple as it seems, that move was brilliant from a tactical point of view -- the ash left behind after a blaze that intense is incredibly fine, and is extremely difficult to get out once it's clinging to you; the way she threw it, across his body and towards his left eye, likely got some particles in both eyes, but it's the left eye that's the big weak point. The way Kazai tried to slug Buwaro a minute ago suggests that he's right-handed, and the fact that Kieri landed a clean hit from his left suggests his defense on that side is already weaker... and now, he's completely blinded on his left side as that ash sticks to his eye like glue.
One move, and Kieri's completely tilted the scales in her favor.
