Mohatu, the founder.
The founder of the famous lion pride, his homeland is unknown.
According to some legends, he had a brother, Choyo, with whom he fought for the title of King of the Savannah, but Choyo was defeated, and from then on relations between the two brothers soured.
It was he who laid down the law of the 'circle of life'.
Mohatu reigned for a very long time, perhaps the longest of all kings, and grew very old. But one winter night he died. All his subjects wept for the loss of their king. Many felt lost without him, and fighting broke out again among them. One night a star appeared in the sky, bigger and brighter than the others. The animals were at peace. They knew the star was the spirit of their king, who still watched over them from the sky.
