This I wrote a while back, I titled under a different name to hide its real intention: to be a love note to someone I really loved. The first movement is atonal, this is because at first seeing this love from a distance I was never really able to find much about her, not for a long time, so it became this enchantment of seeing her from a distance, never knowing anything; and it was perhaps for that reason that I was all the more intrigued.
Movement II (Will be uploaded tomorrow) goes to a movement of connection, finally coming together and ending the mystery in a beautiful way. More about this movement tomorrow once I upload it, it is no longer atonal and flows nicely.
Instrumentation:
Flute
Clarinet
Viola
Vibraphone
Piano

How wonderful! All the parts do sound very "hidden" if you know what I mean, they're there but not as well brought out as they could be, and all those "phrases" that just seem to come in and go (as well as the independent parts that come out and then join the "harmony" whilst another takes it's place) all so give the feeling of something private, I would have thought something similar to what you said if you hadn't written anything, I wouldn't immediately think of love, but more of fantastic woodland creatures hiding in the forest at night and the music tells the sights of a fellow that just happened to be there catching glimpses of those dryads and magical beings~
And I love how you use atonality, it's lyrical, soft and really is natural sounding, unlike serialism, which is quite synthetic to my ears (though I must admit that Schoenberg's "A Survivor from Warsaw" is one of my favourite pieces, by that I mean that I love serialism and harsher sounds too, but I'd need to really listen, I could hear this anywhere any-time!)
So, lovely composition, I can tell that there's a story behind it, but it's not so "grandly" put out that it's bloody obvious, nice and subtle (but not as subtle as me, I'm too subtle, I think, I doubt anyone but myself could hear why I think such and such notes actually represent this and that)

Oh, I know atonality can sound great, and so can serialism, my music collection doesn't just have music written before the nineteen hundreds, a good tenth of it is of "contemporary" composers, some of my favourite names are Carlo Chiarappa, Alfred Schlee, Massimo Mila, Edoardo Sanguineti to name a few, of course all the greats like Stockhousen, Boulez, Berio, Schoenberg, Berg and Webern don't even have to be mentioned!
Of course atonality and serialism are beautiful! Really, I love all forms of music, I can even like quite a few examples of (extremely contemporary) popular styles.

So...did you tell her that you loved her! You put this much into it, you had to say so, DETAILS followed by a posted musical piece to match the answer. Hehe
I'm still learning the lingo, all i know so far is entune lolz. It's a rather fun piece though wish I could add more coment about it, just dont know what to say.
