Just a little sketch to show what feet I draw on Anthros usually. (Not monsters and not cartoon characters, mind you!)
A: Human feet. Maybe toenails are more clawlike and the shape of the big toe may be a bit transformed.
B: Plantigrade animal feet. Even if the animal is originally digitigrade, because it's a mix of human and animal.
C: Digitigrade. Only for animals that are originally digitigrade.Build a bit stronger, since they have to carry all the weight of the character.
This is NOT a "Dis is the only way how to draw this, otherwise it's WRONG"-Guide.
It's just my way of drawing things and to show that i don't only draw one way. Sometimes I even mix it up and draw the same character with different feet between pictures, but the more serious/realistic ones tend to stick to style A usually.

Going by realism I found out that keeping an upright stance with plantigrade feet is very hard when the character has a large tail. A tail puts the center of gravity further back where it has little or no support for a plantigrade stance while a digitgrade stance allows them to adjust the point of balance further back to be in line with the center of gravity. So I prefer to keep plantigrade feet only for bears, koalas and such
It's called digitigrade. Half-Digitigrade is just something some people call their specific way of drawing a mix between animal and human foot (like a human foot with animal toes that "tip toes" as humans can do).
But technically, if it doesn't walk on the heel, it's digitigrade "walking on toes" or unguligrade "walking on hooves"

I've always thought the same way you do I think. It makes total sense to me that many (if not most, other than equine and bovine) actual anthros would be probably plantigrade (option B) as there is still HUMAN in the genetics! I also think they look cooler too anyway. I know many furries have a fixation on digigrade being "the best" or "the correct" way... so you you have my full plantigrade support lmao ❤️
Eya, I really appreciate it. When comparison images like that are posted, it shows how much the leaning of general furries go to the C option. Most furries just adore these, but I personally like B the best as well X,D Makes the most sense to me and looks cool. (lately I also like A more and more, but that's just small aesthetics)
