...so i guess i'm posting old portfolio bits for a few days ...
wuz going thru old portfolio stuff to see what to post and found this - a model sheet for a movie poster used in the Hanna-Barbera's "Monster In My Pocket" tv special. i did this around '91 ?
Not a typical tv animation model sheet. There were a few of us at HB who were getting into '40s and '50 animation styles and art and we were playing with our color-erase pencils to do this retro style.
Model sheet for an old autographed photo. In the story Rae is in her 70's/80's-ish - and the poster (previous post), this, and next post (model for cheesy old movie clip) were her fond memories of when she was a young movie star.
The series had already been mostly designed when i was brought in to some sprucing-up on it - so the elderly Rae had already been designed - i took that and pushed a bit further into this retro thingy.

Maybe some basic H-B style guides ?
i don't recall which artists worked on what.
For example i did one (two? - don't recall) Pirates Of Dark Water VHS covers - but i didn't work on the series - but - the comic book artist Gil Kane did - and Gil Kane is was a teen fave among many many many artists of that time.
When an artist finished a project they were assigned to a new project - it was expected that all the models and development departments artists could learn to draw in new style within a day or two at most. The ability to change style at a snap was a mark of a pro.
So maybe some sort of studio style standards?

There were a few artists who worked in comics and at HB who were quite influential such as Alex Toth and Doug Wildley (teamed up on Johnny Quest) and Toth did tons of models for many series as he knew how to simplify a design so it could be animated.
