Sometimes, you just need to cry... sometimes, you just need to let those tears run down your face, leak from your eye in a steady stream of salty water... those tears feel both painful yet reassuring, saddening yet comforting, full yet empty. No matter how hard you cry, no matter how many tears fall from your eyes, no matter if it's for a minute or an hour, tears will never bring back what you've lost. Tears will never bring anything back. They can only accompany you until you are strong enough to move forward.
I wanted to do a really emotional drawing for a change, except one that isn't necessarily avant garde like the last one, but one that hopefully captures that raw, unfiltered emotion of debilitating grief and sorrow.'
I am definitely getting a bit ahead of myself drawing this, which is why I'm not exactly explaining why there is a Floatzel, of all things, crying. It turned out pretty well, though. I love playing around with lowering the saturation of things and giving a tint to reflect the moonlight. The sparkle in the tears was also a nice touch, though I do need more practice in drawing them.

I agree. Seeing what is normally thought to be a happy, cheery character crying its heart out does provoke an additional level of emotion to the viewer. There's just something about it that really helps show the emotion more than, say, a human's emotion.
Or maybe I just have a vivid imagination.

Nice work here, Zeph. Although the sparkling bits on the tears seem a bit gratuitous to me.
For some reason makes me think of that scene in Dune where Paul has to fight that one fremen guy. My memory of that scene is way too foggy to word the sentence relating it to this very well. Darn.

I think its been long enough now that we can let this cat out of the bag for those who still don't have any clue who this is (or was) supposed to represent....
For those who do not want to be spoiled, look away here.
... go on. Look away, there's still time to keep your spoiler-innocence. I repeat, IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE SPOILED AS TO THE NATURE OF THIS PICTURE, OR IF YOU DONT WANT TO BE SPOILED WHEN IT COMES TO FLEETING FRIENDSHIP, LOOK AWAY NOW.
...Still here? I'm warning you. This is your last chance.....
... okay. If your still reading, I'm guessing you really wanna know, but don't say I didn't warn you.
The floatzel in the pic is none other than Colby from the fleeting friendship series. Or perhaps more accurately, was SUPPOSED to be him. It was created as a hint towards the original plot chapter 10. He's crying at the sort of monster he became, due to him (accidently) killing a biberal in his blind attempt to make himself stronger. This act caused him to evolve, but he's crying because he robbed two innocent bidoofs of a mother, the same way he was robbed of swiss.
HOWEVER, when the chapter was presented to a few close friends of his (this one included), the consensus was that this plot took colby waaaayyyy too far out of character (even with psychosis factored in) and made the story way too dark even by Fleeting Friendship standards. The plot for chap 10 was then scrapped, the killing and evolution never happened, and thus the event that this this picture shows never happened (... yet.)
It was meant to be a hint towards chapter 10, but instead it's become a memorial to something that never was. A "could have been." A sad moment in colby's already troubled life that thankfully never came to pass.
Check Zephyr's scrap section if you really want to see the proto-chapter 10. You'll know it cause it has this picture as its icon.
