The unthinkable had happened. Link had fallen to Ganondorf’s might in their final confrontation. The Gerudo King had succeeded in defeating the Hero of Time, and had managed to quickly force the Triforce into existence. This was it, the evil king was finally about to get his wish after so long.
However, thanks to sheer will and drive alone, Link had managed to hang on. Before Ganondorf could realize this and stop him, Link had jumped at the Triforce and made a wish with all of his might.
The wish? To have another chance at being able to be a better hero for the world. To be able to have another chance at life and be better prepared for whatever evil surfaced.
The Triforce complied, and in a blinding flash, everything seemed to reset, as if existence lurched and twisted in on itself. The next thing Link knew, to his surprise, was that the artifact had granted his wish in the literal sense. He had been thrown back and reborn in life. However, what was even more unexpected as that he had been reborn as a Gerudo. Instead of Ganondorf being born among the Gerudo, it was Link himself– taking the place of the only male born within the tribe for well over 100 years.
An altered timeline, Link grows up among the Gerudo as their young prince/king, allowing him to learn more about the people, as well as receive various forms of training from them. Koume and Kotake also serve as his mother figures and trainers in the art of magic. He also constantly finds himself on the receiving end of the various Gerudo taking joy in dressing him up rather cutely
As the young prince of the Gerudo, Link finds himself desiring to try and help bridge the gap in relationship between the Gerudo and Hylians. In this timeline, Link, as the first male Gerudo in a long time, had been born around the same time as Zelda, and so the two occasionally meet from time to time.
Though Link remembers things from before, he is the only one who does
As for Ganondorf’s existence and whereabouts? He was reborn as well, but is somewhere else out there in the land.
