Yep... Trust can be broken quickly. And it hurts when it happens. Nothing worse than picking the imposter as your buddy..
Being known as reliable is bad too XD I got offed first in a match last night because they knew I was the only one who could read the logs (good thing they did too, I had already picked them out as imposters from the logs and was gonna call an emergency meeting XD)

Yeah, when the game isn't deciding I should be imposter all the time, I just kinda go and do my stuff off on my own. Ensuring I'm just as sus normally as when I actually am imposter. Funnily enough I tend to go with white lately, got a bit of an extra chuckle from me there heh.
Admittedly, that's one of the best strategies for rounds when there's multiple Impostors: at least one of them plays innocent and avoids drawing suspicion, letting the others rack up kills while they focus on quietly sabotaging ship systems to provide the others with openings to pick off stragglers, only jamming the knife in when victory's assured from it.
I've also seen Impostors buddy up as a means of providing one another with an alibi, given how frequently players 'clear' one another by watching for progress bar increases in response to task completion. Plus, that opens up the potential for double-kills, which tend to shorten the match considerably.
