Yeah crisis of faith are very common in these early days, its what helps give rise to the more bizarre cults and religions of the more stable period 50 or so years after moments like these. There are some that enjoy the changes believe me they will get a lookin too! just give it some time don't worry.

And yeah lots of prepulse world ideas, iconography and beliefs do make it into the post awakening DragonScape, in some cases it lasts a lot longer than in other cases and there are a bunch of tribes, city states, and whatnot that do hold onto those old ideas (albeit they tend to get warped a lot over the decades)
