I might as well jump on the HTTYD bandwagon. I can't help how adorable Toothless is. I soon as I saw the movie months ago I wanted to draw him. It took me a while to think of a worthwhile idea.
The main inspiration for this was probably the conceptual drawing for the movie: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped.....conceptart.jpg as well as the loading screen from Final Fantasty VII. Tried my best at drawing Toothless, but still in my style. With this picture I tried using my own custom made textures for his scaling. It also tried for the spotlight light effect. Also, I added a rock and a tree for no reason.
It's funny my family and friend love the picture, but my little brother appently doesn't. He claims the mouth is all wrong. (even though you can barely see the mouth)
Yeah, I won't be a completly foot-oriented artist, but I do try making feet part of the sub-focus.
Critique is always appreciated.

He looks great and I can tell you put in a lot of work and effort into this. Really incredible.
My only complaint, which isn't really a complaint, but something to think about, is the lighting is coming from the back but it looks like its coming from above as well. But then again, its not in a cave so I think that disregards that all together.
Overall this is really great, I still have yet to see the film, but by the looks of it, its worth while ^_^
