Jake was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, but moved to the desert outside Las Vegas, Nevada with several brothers and sisters when he was in his late teens. He was always something of an oddity to his family growing up, as he was far less sociable and more solitary than most rabbits his age. That solitary nature has carried through to his early adulthood. He now lives alone as he searches to find his path and his meaning in life.

Jake has been accused – only somewhat unfairly – of being something of a degenerate or an asshole. He is unemployed and has no apparent goals or ambitions. He can be direct and pointed in his manner of speaking. This has resulted in hurt feelings and severed friendships on more than one occasion. He often sleeps into the late afternoon, and pays his rent through a variety of small jobs and endeavors (both legal and not). However, those with the patience to get to know him will find that he is deeper and far more sensitive than meets the eye. He is fiercely loyal to those who have earned his friendship, and sometimes overtly affectionate as well.

Jake often goes by the nicknames “J.J.” or “Jay.” He typically wears what could be described as a slacker/stoner/skater wardrobe. This includes lots of hoodies, jeans, cargo pants, and the occasional beanie. He often goes shirtless with boxers when he is at home. Most of his clothing is a size or two too large for him, as is his preference. His left hand is missing at the wrist from an accident in his past. This incident is a sore spot for him emotionally, and he does not like to talk about it.

Jake’s demeanor is extremely mellow and slightly apathetic. He is often cynical and/or sarcastic in his speech. He has been told numerous times throughout his life to stop slouching, or to stop rolling his eyes. In addition to the hobbies listed above, he has a healthy addiction to internet pornography. He also experiences occasional pyromaniacal and kleptomaniacal tendencies, which he is usually (but not always) able to suppress. Although he has had a handful of short relationships in his life, he is currently single. While he prides himself on his independence and will tell anyone who asks that he does not need a mate to be happy, he is secretly deeply lonely and hoping to find his “other half.”
