Bushi are absolutely fantastic & I love their dual-wielding capabilities, they're so fun. Musaro are also really fun! V is probably my least fav game of the series, but it had some really neat classes (Really, really love the Rover class!) Sad they couldn't fit every class into Nexus, but hey, at least there's the DLC portraits!
Thank you, glad it made your morning, fellow good-taste-in-JRPG-haver~

Oh my goodness that is GORGEOUS~! Just a beautiful piece! ✨A✨
I love all the games for different reasons but my fav is EOU2 (EO2 was my first game, rly like the story party, love the stratums & story, the cafe is cool side content)!
V felt the least inspired imo, which is a shame because it has some cool stuff going for it, with dull stratums (aside from 2 & 6), dull bosses, & my least favorite superboss lol. It didn't feel like an advancement of the series to me, but it's still solid.
Yeah there are not many active western, though the Japanese fandom is pretty active! A bummer for talking about the games, but great for a good flow of fanart lol.

EOV is like an advancement in how to treat the party building with how there's essentially double the classes with the split promotions, & with how the race effects your stats, but I don't find it to be an equal exchange for the sub-par story & stratums. Even a lot of the enemy designs were like, alright but nothing really stuck to me aside from the turkey enemies in the 2nd stratum cuz I think they're funny (also I typo'd up there, the 3rd stratum in EOV is cool! The 2nd one is my least fav lol).
I discovered EO2 when I was a kid, saw my cousin playing it at a family get together, & liked the art lol. That's probably why I was god awful at it, cuz i was deff not old enough to think up good strategies for how hard EO2 can be.
The Pupa is cool, I LOVE the Hall of Darkness! That place scared the shit out of me when I first walked in, it's so damn unsettling lol. My fav superboss is either Ur-Child or The Abyssal God, because I love how they both tie into the stories of the games.
I think EOU2 is deff worth the play! The Fafnir class is super cool & can get mega OP towards the end, which some people dislike, but I thought it was fine. The updated graphics & cafe content is, no pun intended, chef's kiss~

That's entirely fair lmao, EO's never had the most ground-breaking epic story in any game. I super love the sci-fi twist of 1 & the fact that Visil was the 5th stratum boss (even if it was super obv that he was evil, hey, still neat!)
EO2 to me goes more like, some wacko wanted to reach godhood & literally left a mess of experiments & ruin in his wake while literally climbing to reach the heavens, which makes the Ur-Child, his ultimate & uncontrollable experiment, the superboss, really cool to me. I think where this differentiates to EO for me is the whole Yggdrasil project feels pretty unimportant until the end of the game, while the Overlord's goal in EOII feels like you're seeing his path of ruin & results of his work gradually, it builds it up really well & makes you feel involved the whole time, imo at least!
EOIII's branching paths was interesting for me, with both sides sounding pretty compelling in their own ways, & the Deep Ones being active enemies made it feel more involved as well.
EOIV was "racism" no joke LOL, basically Baldur wants to revive Yggdrasil & every single person says "NO THATS BAD" but he does it anyway, even if in the process, even when all of the unique races would die to fuel Yggdrasil. I think the core theme of every EO game is "corruption", so they're all just different takes on that, hence why they seem very similar. Deff a critique of it, but eh, I enjoy them regardless.
I have a lot of criticisms about Nexus, the small class pool is one. They most likely didn't want to overwhelm by choice, but I think they could have given a *few* more options for each dynamic. Having ONE dedicated healing class? pbbbt it could have been better.
I also prefer the orchestrated music, I SUPER love the super arranged versions (EOIV being my fav), but the chiptune versions are nostalgically great.
I think Atlust had a sale a month or so ago, before a lot of their games got taken off the EU E-Shop? Perhaps with the holidays coming up, they'll have another. At the very least, I doubt physical copies are that expensive now.
I moreso meant the dungeon environments got good upgrades, but I'm also a fan of the 2D sprites over the 3D models lol, since that's what I started with as well. The sprite work was so GOOD, & at least in IV they kept the black shadow effects on the models. I'm bummed that it's just clean 3D models without a ton of definition now, lost some charm to me.
