After the movie, Max and Iris are both thinking of the theory that they might be a couple. And after the intense event with Frank, everyone is trying their best to emotionally recover. Unbeknownst to everyone, Max has been kidnapped!

Although this is a story about a unicorn, friendship, and romance, this chapter is without a doubt, by far, the darkest piece of literature I have written for now. Along with dark moments, it has terrifyingly realistic issues.
I'm adding some changes to every chapter to make the story better. Along with that, I'm working on a remake of the first chapter. Changes such as Drake and Angela's introduction, Trent and McKenzie's motivation to be in the group, Nate meeting Drake and Angela and talking to Max, saving Storm Heart's family, Trent and McKenzie bonding in the library, Bobby's catchphrase, Jason's introduction, Chayton getting into the group, the name of McKenzie's dad, what Scarlet's human form looks like, how María's name is spelled, and Nate's interests.
If you're a fan of this story, I'd appreciate it If you read those changes. If this chapter is way too dark, I'm hope one day to make a censored version of this. Like the second Deadpool movie or the Batman Beyond movie.

The Stranger

Six Months Ago
Max and his father were at a mall, after some bonding time. They were about to leave.
(John Kazonski's voice) "How was that for some father son bonding?" Larry said.
"It was cool. Jason always told me about how much fun he had when his grandfather took him to the mall."
"Yep, we should do this more often. Also, I got you a little something special."
"Really!?" Max said excitingly. "He gave Max a box. He opened it to see......... A necklace with a hollow silver like heart and half of it was shaped like a unicorn. He looked at his father confused. "Dad, just because I like kids shows meant for girls, doesn't mean I like jewelry."
"It's not for you! It's for your girlfriend." Max was even more confused. "When you have a crush on a girl, you can give it to her. that's how I got your mother interested in me." He had a smug face under his short curly beard.
"So the first jewelry I give to my girlfriend, is a ten dollar thing?"
"It's cheap just in case the girl breaks up with you and decides to keep it, or throws it away."
"That's kinda clever."
"Ready to go home?"
"Hold on dad, I gotta use the bathroom."
"All right, I'll start the car." While leaving the mall, a man followed him.
After using the restroom and leaving it, Max was just mere feet near the door, then he heard a loud sound that sounded like a firecracker. He stopped in his tracks for a moment and wondered what it was. He gestured 'meh' with his shoulders and walked outside.
While walking out the mall building, he saw a masked man holding a knife. Max saw that the mask was a burlap sack with eye holes and a creepy smile drawn on it.
The masked man noticed Max, and ran to a black car and drove off. He saw his father laying on the asphalt of the parking lot. And a police car chased the black car. He noticed that there were sploches of a red fluid that looked like blood on where the masked man walked.
He was confused. Then he saw a paramedic ran out the building and towards the parking lot. He stopped near his father's car and he knelt, Max ran a little bit to the car, but when he got closer, he His dad laying in the ground and saw red stains on his dad's shirt! "Dad!?" When he saw the paramedic treating his father, Max realized what was happening, and froze in his tracks. "Dad!?!" He ran closer near the paramedic.
When a police officer walked to the paramedic, the paramedic spoke. "He's dead!"
Max heard.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!"
He would have just run to his father and tried to hold his dad, but he was too scared! He dropped to his knees, with tears forming out of his eyes! A nearby police officer heard his scream, she understood who he was, she walked to him and tried to comfort him. With the officers hand on his shoulder, everything to Max around him just started disappearing while he had a sad face expression. "Dad." A tear escaped his eye.
After a few minutes of being partly unconscious, Max started to wake up, he couldn't see anything, and it felt and sounded like he was in a car. He started to get scared. "wh.. Whats going on!?"
A stranger spoke. (Brad Dourif voice) "Just to let you know, you have been kidnapped by the future most dangerous serial killer in Utah. The most dangerous and infamous man in Salt Lake City history! A man with a lot of blood on his hands!" Max then remembered the news reports about a possible serial killer! "A man with no remorse, no motive, or real name." Max was then terrified! "A man only known as............. The Saltial Thrilker!"
His fear just simply disappeared and he stifled a laugh. "I'm sorry, What!?"
"It's a combination of Salt Lake City and Serial Thrill Killer! It strikes fear in the hearts of the innocents!"
Max continued laughing. "I'm so sorry for being rude, but your name sounds like an ugly alien species!" He continued laughing.
Max couldn't see it, but the man looked annoyed. "You wont be laughing for long!"
"Help! Earth is being invaded by the Thrilker from the planet Saltial!" He silently cackled. Sure he was being rude, but he did kidnap Max, so technically he deserves this.
He started to get agitated. "You know there's a big chance that you're gonna die!" Max then tried to be scared. The man was then happy about the silence. Then he heard snickering. "WHAT!?!"
"I'm so sorry man, it's just. . . You wanted a stage name that was scary, but that is the opposite of scary!"
"Fine! Just call me Thrilker!"
"That alone is funny, but not rudely laugh funny."
"I had a second choice."
"What was it? Off Brand Ted Bundy!?!"
Thrilker (AN~😖) was then proud for someone to have attention of his name. "Actually, my second choice was a combination Killer, little Motive, and no Remorse. . .Killmenoer!"
Five seconds of silence later, Max made a raspberry sound with his lips, then started laughing harding then before! Thrilker started to get very annoyed.

Iris was using her magic to fix the broken window. And the entire time, she thought of what Max thought about her. Sure like most high school crushes, she liked Max just as a friend, but no one has ever thought of her like that before. She has never had a boyfriend before, so she never felt her real first love. And she knew that Max has never had a crush before. Even after she completely fixed the window, she stood there, thinking about what Max thinks of her. She wanted to talk to him more about it, but she sensed that her friend was laughing and joyful, possibly after hearing a hilarious joke.

Several minutes after the man being annoyed and Max laughing and mocking, the car stopped, Max was dragged from out of the car. He continued laughing. Thrilker took off the sack that was over Max's head. "Okay Mr Killer Clown! What do you.." He looked at the car door "... want?" He stopped because he noticed the car, it was black, with a dent on the door! As he was being dragged, he noticed the scenery was the same place as the drag race was.
He was dragged in the warehouse of that place, he realized who the man was. The man dragged him under a single spot light in the middle of the building. He turned his head to the man. "You're the guy who-" He would have said that he was the one who chased him and Iris, but he froze and his laughter turned to fear when he saw the man's face, Max's face was just inches away from the man's face............. or mask. It was a burlap sack with eye holes and a creepy smile drawn on it! He fell back to the floor with a frightened yelp. "That...... mask!"
The man was then happy that he finally made Max afraid. "Ya like it?" The kidnapper said as he took it off revealing his face with long blond messy hair, and a dirty and scruffy face with a mustache. "Here. Have a closer look." He tossed the mask to Max.
Max got a really good look at it. He had a flash memory of the last time he saw his dad alive. "This mask,.. the mall,.. my dad!... you....." At first he wanted to run in fear, but he realized that the man who kidnapped him and the reason why is father was not alive! The reason why his family was depressed and stressed! Max's fear turned to anger! He stood up, screamed in rage, and tackled him to the ground. "You MURDERER!!" He started hitting the man's face, making him flail a bit. "You CREEP!!!" Thrilker tried to block the punches to no avail. "You're the reason why my family is-" Before he could say anything else, the man pulled out a knife, and stabbed Max in the side!!!

Iris gasped loudly in horror with wide open eyes and teeth showing! She sensed her friend was injured!
Everyone was preparing to go home after being calmed down from the event earlier, until Iris burst into the room, visibly distressed! "Everyone! Max is in danger!!"
Drake and Angela in the cafeteria, still kissing, suddenly stopped because they heard Iris' distress! They ran to the library.
Everyone realized that Max wasn't here! "Where is he?" Carrie desperately asked.
"He's not here! In this building!! And he is in terrible danger! We have to save him!!!" She started hyperventilating in panic
Drake and Angela were then in the library.
"We don't even know we're he is!" Chayton said.
"He's miles away! He's been kidnapped!" Carrie then looked panicked.
"Can't you just do a distant illusion or make the guy who's attacking him feel dizzy until we get there?" Drake said.
"It won't work, the person who kidnapped him has far too much wickedness in his heart! And Max is severely injured!!!" Everyone was shocked.
Bobby some up. "Well let's mosey on an' save 'im!" Everyone agreed with him. Even the kids.
Angela was confused. "You're all coming?"
"He's our friend too!" Trent said.
"He's one of Jason's best friends!" Heather said.
"He did so much for us!" Bobby said.
Sakima stood in front of her. "You saved my family. It seems fair that we save him!"
Carrie thought for a moment. Then she realized what her son did. "They're right." She turned to Iris. "By befriending you, he made their lives better! We should all go!"
Everyone cheered in agreement.
Iris then immediately accepted that fact. "Then let's go save my friend!!"
María noticed something. "Where are Scarlet and Jason!?!"
Heather heard her, and ran to where he son was. She burst in the faculty room. "Jason! Scarlet! Max is in-" She stopped in mid-sentence when she realized what was going on. Scarlet in her giant Great Dane sized fox form, on her back, on the floor, and Jason with his knees on the floor and his hands on Scarlet's stomach. They both looked at Heather.
"It's....just a belly rub, I swear!" He smiled nervously.
Scarlet smiled nervously as she glowed and changed into human form with her shirt up at the bottom of her ribs.
"Not the worst thing can walk in on. But now is not the time, Max is in danger!"
The two made a shocked expression, they got up, and ran to the door.
While everyone was rushing in the hallway, Jason realized something. "Where's my watch?"
Trent walked quickly besides him. "Here ya go!" He said as he gave him a digital watch with a rubber strap. "I snatched it just to be funny."
"How do you DO THAT!?" He asked while putting it back on.
"How did you not notice it was gone? You like wearing so many bracelets." Everyone looked at him in confusion.
"I have skinny wrists."

Max flinched, screamed in pain, clinched his teeth, and fell to the floor holding the place where he was stabbed! The side of his head hit the concrete floor a bit, but he was too focused on the searing pain in his side! He kind of curled up into a ball, and his eyes started to flood with tears!
Thrilker got up. "So, you're the son of the guy I killed at the mall. Larry, right? I learned his name form the news." He knelt to him. "I could slit your throat right now!" He held the knife to Max's neck! "But I'll let you live long enough, because it's about time that one of my victims got to know me. And it may seem cliche that a villain explains his plans to the protagonist, but this will show, that I'm ready to be the most feared serial killer in all of Utah."
Max started panting through his teeth! He hasn't felt horrible pain like this since he broke his arm as a child! With his hands starting to get covered in blood, his eyes drenched in tears because of the horrendous pain!
"Yeah, a stab wound to the side is painful, but not enough to kill someone fast. I would kill you right now, but, I'm having too much fun talking to you. But I still want to kill you."
Max tried to crawl away and stand up to run, but the man placed his foot on Max's leg.
"It's no use escaping, I've already embarrassingly let ten victims escape from me. I've only killed six people. But I won't let you get away. As payback for making fun of my name and attacking me, let's start with this." He picked up a metal rod, held it overhead, and slammed it down!

After exiting the building, Iris started panicking more as she sensed her friend was getting hurt more! "We have to hurry!!"
Everyone ran outside and waiting for Iris to say something.
Angela noticed that Iris was standing looking visibly stressed as she sensed that Max was getting more injured by the second! She was in too much of a state of panic to think of a plan, Angela was worried that she might fail to save a friend! But she realized how Iris can get there in time. She remembered that she learned to lead attacks in war from her father. She spoke up loud. "Iris? You magically leap across buildings so you can get there in time! Me and Drake will follow! The rest of you? Iris will text you the location to where Max is!"
The parents and kids went into cars. While Trent went on his bike. Nate, Amy, McKenzie, Chelsea, and Jackie all went to the limo. Adrian (AN~that's the name of McKenzie's father that sounds better) noticed how his daughter looked determined to save a bit she just met a few months ago. Realizing that a unicorn friend changed her life!
Heather saw that Jason ran to Carrie's car instead of hers, then she remembered why she and Carrie showed up, to pick up the children. John, Satoshi, Charlie, Phoebe, and Billy went into her car.
Carrie, Derrick, Jason, Scarlet, Sammi, and Penny boarded the car. With Derrick in driver's seat, he realized a little flaw. "If we're in a rush, we might get pulled over!"
Jason sitting behind him spoke up. "Saving Max is worth breaking some traffic rules!" He clapped and pointed towards the windshield. "Lets go doc!!" Scarlet sat on the seat next to him with Sammi in the back seat.
"I'm not really a doctor."
Carrie realized something. "We might not be able to get there in time!!"
Iris heard the desperate cry of Carrie. She wanted for her to be able to see her son as soon as possible!
Derrick got an idea. "Drake, how strong are you?" He asked Drake standing near the driver seat.
After she heard Derrick, Iris got an idea that would help them get there faster. She closed her eyes, her horn glowed, and she spoke. But when she spoke, it echoed slightly, and it sounded partly like horse sounds. "Da huic vehiculo, fugae virtute!" A beam of light came from her horn towards the car. And it started floating!
Everyone in the car exclaimed in shock as they felt like they were in an elevator! Scarlet, surprised by the lifting car, had fox ears pop out!
Angela realized that Iris would be too busy leaping across buildings to help herself. Gargoyles usually only glide on currents of wind, but with Iris' magic, she constantly has a gust of wind behind her and can make her fly like Drake. And the moment she saw the floating van, she did an action movie side flip, and with a small thud, she was on the roof of the car, and gripped onto cargo racks. Everyone was startled by the thud, but somehow knew it was Angela.
Drake then grabbed both sides of the back of the car, spread his wings, and jumped!
Everyone exclaimed in shock by the feeling of the car floating. Jason thought of something. "Is it inappropriate or appropriate to say 'buckle up?"
Sammi was amazed by her mother's possible future boyfriend. "Great idea, Mr- sorry, Dr Phillip!"
Derrick exclaimed in fear. "This is NOT what I had in mind!"
Iris texted everyone else to where the location Max is, and they went off!
Carrie decided to have road safety at the best time. She buckled up and held on to her belly!
Penny started yowling, and dug her claws in cushion next to Sammi! As the car moved, the tag of her collar jingled.
Iris jumped high and far with a rainbow trailing her! Drake with the car that had Angela on top in hand, followed her!

Max, now covered in bruises, layed on the ground in pain, still holding the stab wound! Now afraid at what's happening! Terrified if he was not gonna survive this experience! His pantings in pain started to sound more scared! "HELP!! ANYBODY!!!
Thrilker then placed his foot on his neck! "It's no use. No one can help you, and you're gonna bleed out soon."
Max heard what he said, and remembered what Nate once said what a horror movie victim could do to survive. He quickly took off his shirt, leaving only his undershirt, crumpled it into a ball and placed it on his stab wound.
Thrilker noticed and understood his attempt. "Very clever. But it won't be enough to save you." He dropped the rod with a clang. "I could kill you right now, but lucky for you I'm having too much fun talking to you. How 'bout I tell you my origin story. Lets just say, being a killer is in my genes. My dad killed five children in just one month. And my grandfather killed a woman who owned a unicorn."
Max made a surprised face, forgetting all about the pain for a moment, for he realized who the man's father and grandfather were!
"Along with that, my uncle tried to hold a baby at a mall for ransom, my aunt was a member of the Manson family, my cousin was a school shooter, my great uncle bragged about killing Japanese traitors during World War Two, one of my ancestors was a notorious killer outlaw in the west, another one of my ancestors led an indian massacre, and another of my ancestors captured slaves from Africa. Basically my family was full of killers, and I wanted to be one of 'em. So I tried to be as bad a kid can be. I did as much damage as I could in my youth, beat up kids smaller than me, and kill little animals. And destroy other people's houses like set fires and break into places and trash 'em."
Max with his remaining strength, kicked the man's shin, like a little child. But it was the best he could do.
He groaned in pain. "And you remind me of all the nerds and freaks I use to have fun with. I use to take or follow them in a secluded area, my first year in high school, I just did some harmless punching and kicking, tying them up to pulls, locking 'em in closets, stealing their things, and crushing their dreams. When I was young, all I did was harmless violence. But as I got older, I started to have even more fun."
Even with the sharp pain in his side and minor pain all over his body, Max decided to make a joke. "So...... you're ...... a modern day ....murderous ..greaser?"
"Basically. School was the perfect place for freaks, police and parents said I was a danger to society, sure I sent some people to the hospital and made some people lose some toes or fingers, but it was all worth at the end. Horror movies and documentaries about killers really inspired me to have fun. For example." He leaned down with a box cutter in hand.

Iris sensed that her Max was getting more injuries! Not just one injury, Several! She panicked more for every new injury max got! She leapt again. After several leaps, she was in an area of the city with five story buildings.
She wasn't just leaping over buildings, she was running on top of buildings! She leapt off that building! Between every jump, she was more determined to get there!
She remembered the impact she did for all her past friendships, and she feels such great pride and joy making lives better, the main reason she loves herself and her magic! And she wanted her friendship of Max to last longer!

Max now had tiny cuts all over his body, bleeding in several places! Max was horrified that the stranger might cut him more! But luckily, he put the box cutter away.
"I had good times in my youth." Thrilker said as he finished his fun and stood up. "And now, I'm having the time of my life. With every kill I did, I made criminals think that it was safe to commit crimes in the most Christiany city in the country. I motivated a guy to try to kill a family of savages, motivated a guy to try to rob a rich girl, I motivated several attempted car jackings, I convinced a friend of mine to steal a bike and make it a prize in his rigged drag race, and from what I learned from the news, I inspired a kid to seek revenge on a girl who got him in trouble."
Max felt realization. Realizing that he was responsible for all the life of death situations he and his friends were in!
"Part of the fun, is spreading fear, and what better way, then being the most ruthless serial killer in the most 'Christiany' state. But it wasn't all killing, I did some robberies, some home invasion with no one in the house, and I tried to cat fish losers into signing up for a useless thing." He turned to Max. "but now, since I kidnapped you, I'm ready to be more, I'm gonna be every kind of serial killer in one. Sadistic, Cannibal, sexual. Child killer!"
Max realized one of Iris' abilities. "Any . . . minute now . . . my friends will be here . . . and, kick your butt!" He said while he tossed a small nearby rock it the man's back.
He groaned in pain again. "Sure, they will, but they'll be too late. In the mean time." He held a long dish towel and wrapped it around his neck!

Iris was only half way there! But she sensed that her friend was getting hurt more! She then literally ran up the wall of a tall building!
While galloping on the roof of a building, Iris remembered all the horrible times she lost a friend from death. Most of them were her friends on a death bed. But the one that affected her the most, was the most recent, she blinked, and she remembered the horrible night that happened all those years ago.
(AN~ I changed it from fifty years to thirty two years)
Late at night, she was trotting home after visiting a friend. She then sensed that her friend was afraid, but she thought she was just having a nightmare. She continued trotting home. Until she felt that her friend was hurt. She gasped! And started galloping!
After half a mile, she was home. Once she came inside, she saw the horrifying sight. Her friend's old cranky neighbor, with the neck of a broken bottle, and a bloody fist. And on the floor, pieces of broken glass, a pool of blood, and her friend laying on the floor, non responsive! She sensed no emotions or feeling in her friend! Meaning one thing and she knew what.
"NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Her friends family heard the scream, ran to the front room, and saw the horrible sight.
When she saw the old man walk to the door, the unicorn felt something.
The flashback was ending with a bright flash, but a man screaming was heard. And the husbands voice. "Rose, NO!!!"
She opened her eyes, and continued. She leapt off the building to another. Once on the other building, she jumped over a little chimney like item, she jumped over it, but while doing so, she scraped her shin, she was then bleeding! She was in too much of a hurry to notice the thick silver fluid that was her blood on her leg!

Max gasped dramatically as Thrilker let go of the towel.
"Some people call me a coward for killing defenseless people, but to show that I'm brave enough to kill, I'm giving you the chance to fight back." With his foot, he nudged the metal rod closer to Max and knelt down.
Max grabbed the metal rod, stood up, and swung it towards him!

Miles away, other cars that had Max's and Sammi's friends were driving fast, which fortunately, Phil driving in the lead as part of a police escort.
Phil already failed to save five children, though Max was not a child, he was still determined to save him!

In another car, Chayton was amazed at his father, he never saw him care this much about some one who was white. Then again, he and his mythical friends saved them. He and his sister hangout with such diverse groups! Along with that, he didn't care about his friends being different skin color, Drake is green, Angela is gray, and Iris is literally white.

In another car, Heather knew how much Max meant to her son. She hasn't seen him so happy since her own father was alive and since that her oldest son had an apartment of his own, a way for him to play games and watch movies that were not allowed in her house. And with Iris' magic, Jason can do things he's always wanted to do and be the person he's always wanted to be without anxiety or stress! And she was determined to get there.

After being hit several times, Thrilker had had enough. Max started charging at him! But at the last second, he stepped out of the way making Max trip and loose grip of the rod!
"Just to let you know, I'm not gonna kill you now, I'm just gonna tell you my origin story. The story of how I became a killer." He placed his foot on a bruise on Max's leg. "It all started when I was expelled from my fifth school."

Iris felt something on the side of her head, a sweat drop! She hasn't sweated in a century! She remembered that if a unicorn uses magic too much, they'll be exhausted! She wanted to get there in time!
She sensed that she was close enough to stop leaping on buildings. She leapt off her last building and started charging towards a supermarket building with no intend of jumping!
Instead of crashing into the wall she was heading towards, her horn glowed and her body became partly transparent, and she just ran right through the wall! But not in a cartoonish crash, she phased right through it like a ghost!
She was running through the store. Running past shoppers who were exclaiming in shock of the unicorn running and they were even moving out of her way! Several children were amazed by the sight of a unicorn and adults thought they were crazy! She was heading to the wall of the other side of the building, but she became transparent again and ghosted through the it.
Along with that, she was still transparent in the parking lot, she was running through cars both parked and moving, phasing though everything in her path! And people in cars were in shock! But thanks to Iris' magic, not enough to crash.

While pushing the flying car, Drake was determined to save Max. He saved Angela when he first met her, saved dozens of children from fires, and he wanted to save a friend just like his grandfather did! Iris saved his father's life, it seemed fair that he saved someone that Iris cares about!
Carrie felt something in her abdomen. She looked down to see a bulge form her belly. She realized what was happening. She started rubbing where her baby was kicking as if trying to calm him down.
Jason and Scarlet decided to hold the hand grips next to their seats and they then, with their free ones, held each others hands!
Penny decided to take drastic measures, she leapt to Sammi's lap, and she wrapped her arms around the kitty.

In the warehouse, Thrilker was enjoying telling his story. "I had to do something to keep myself entertained since I was no longer allowed to be in my favorite place full of freaks, so I thought of something. After watching horror movies, like The Strangers, Hush, and The Purge, (AN~ do not watch those movies if you are sensitive, those movies are not for the faint of heart) I was inspired. Home invasion sounded like fun, but I didn't kill anyone then. But I still had fun. I had a special method of horror, I break into the homes of people, stab and tear apart a pillow in front of them, give them the chance to hide, then when I find them, I stab them with a retractable knife. It was all part of a prank at first. It was so much fun doing that."
"Why would . . . you give up such a satisfying hobby?!" He asked with great anger in his tone along with sarcasm.
Thrilker picked up a brick from off the ground. "Well, one day, while pranking an old lady," He turned to Max. "I grabbed the wrong knife." Max's eyes widened in horror.
He turned around and threw the brick!

Iris felt Max receive another injury! She tried to run faster while phasing! But she realized that that too would exhaust her. She kept to the street without using magic!
She realized there might be a faster way to get to where Max is, without using that much magic! She saw a fence, and behind that fence, was a creek. Without any second thought, she leaped over the fence! But instead of splashing in the water, she didn't, instead she 'stood' on the water! And she started galloping again, but instead of leaving splashes, each foot step left a gentle ripple.
Drake saw Iris through the tree branches above the creek and continued following her!

Max held his now broken shin bone in pain! Every injury he got was worse than the last! Several times, he hoped to be in his bed every time he closed his eyes, because he wished it was all a dream, but it was far too real!

Iris leapt out of the creek and galloped as fast as her horse legs can. She was just a mile close to Max!

"After that, I couldn't stop, every horror movie I watched inspired me. I followed every trope, unknown name, creepy mask, and no emotion while killing. Some of my victims? I had good reasons to do so. One of 'em, was a gang member who turned to a life of crime just to support his family. Another, was an officer that tried to arrest me for attacking a guy with crutches. Two of 'em, they were working hard for their daughter. And your daddy? I've been following you all around the mall, I saw you were interested in, and I heard you say that you like kids shows for girls, I would've killed you, but it be more fun to kill your daddy! And he gave quite a fight. So basically, it's all your fault!" Max glared furiously at him while feeling sorrow and guilt. "And you," Thrilker let out a cackle as he crouched down near him. "You're friends with a dozen freaks! Especially that magic donkey!"
Max suddenly filled with rage, forgot about the pain his whole body was in, and kicked Thrilker in the face with his non-broken leg! "Don't talk about Iris like that! She cares more about life and her friends than your own mother did for you!"

Iris was then half a mile close to the place where Max was! and she was close enough to hear Max's words with the aid of her magic. She was shocked when Max defended her like that. She was just mere seconds away from Max!!! As she heard the air rushing, she was determined to get there in time!

Thrilker rubbed his face, then he remembered what Max said before he abducted him, he laughed wickedly. "I don't believe this." He chuckled. "No!" Iris was just a quarter mile close!! "Are you in love with that thing?!" Max glared.

Iris was suddenly at an old abandoned warehouse, the same warehouse where the drag race she partook in weeks ago. She galloped to the door, until she heard Max's voice.

"Yes." Iris suddenly stopped in her tracks at the big slide door doorway of the warehouse. "I. am. in love. with a unicorn." He spoke with clinched teeth. He struggled to stand up with all of his strength that was growing weaker by the second, he stood up with his legs trembling and one hand holding his shirt on his stab wound. Iris was than filled with powerful emotions! "I am in love with a UNICORN!!!" He yelled as the sound echoed across the building walls. A single tear escaped Iris' eye. Max felt something, and turned around. (Romantic piano music was heard) He saw the silhouette of what he was all too familiar with. "Iris." He felt a great amount of relief knowing that she will heal him.

Drake saw Iris standing in front of a warehouse. He flew lower and was about to put the car down.

There was suddenly a loud explosion like sound! It echoed in the building making birds fly away! (The music stopped) During that, Max's face suddenly went to a shocked expression! He was feeling an unexplainable pain in his chest and back that felt worse than any of his other injuries! He tried to scream, but the pain was far too immense! He dropped his shirt.
Iris eyes widened in utter shock and horror! And tears. "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" She screamed at the top of her lungs! It too echoed. And her eyes flooded with more tears instantly!!
Drake, after landing, and placing the car down, heard the explosion and the scream! He ran to the warehouse, While Angela jumped off the car and followed him. Jason opened his door and was about to run to the building.
Drake and Angela were standing right next to Iris. They both gasped at the horrible sight!
From a minor impact to his back, Max fell to his knees, revealing to the three mythical creatures that Thrilker was holding a gun that had smoke coming from the muzzle!!
He moved his eyes down for a second. He saw a little hole and a growing blood stain on his shirt on the part of his chest where his heart is!!! He placed his hand over it as if trying to stop it bleeding more!
Jason ran to the warehouse, and he was horrified at the site!
With a sad expression, Max looked at Iris one last time and reached out his hand to her, and fell to the floor, with a scorch mark on the left side of the back of his shirt, his knees bent pointing to his left, and his right arm out, Unresponsive!!!
Thrilker then pointed the gun at Iris! Drake, Angela, and Jason gasped in shock again as they realized what the man was going to do!
Drake realized iris was too distraught to cast a magic shield! "IRIS GET DOWN!" Thrilker fired a shot! Drake tackled Iris to the ground, making her head miss a bullet by an inch! Jason jumped and hid behind the other side of the giant sliding door.
Thrilker then pointed the gun to where Iris was on the ground! But Angela ran, jumped, did a role in mid air, and landed five feet in front of Iris and Drake! Just mere seconds before Thrilker shot another round, Angela reached into her satchel, and (in a slow motion shot) she pulled out a sword three times the length of the bags height! While holding it upside down from pulling out of the bag, Thirlker shot a round! But once the bullet was close to her, the blade split the bullet!
Thrilker was shocked by that, and shot another round. Angela held the sword upwards, and again, It split in half!
Carrie heard the gunshots and panicked!
He was shocked again and fired again! She held the sword horizontally and swiped it, making the bullet split again with one half going above her head and the other hitting the concrete between her feet!
Another shot was fired and Angela held the sword in a heroic pose and the bullet split in half.
Another shot was fired, Angela pointed the sword forward, making the bullet hit the very tip of the double edge blade, making it split in four pieces!
Another shot was fired, she waved the sword sideways, hitting the bullet with the side of it, knocking it out of range!
Thrilker was getting annoyed between every shot with the casings falling to the ground!
While Angela was holding off the bullets, Jason hiding behind the wall of the outside of the building, was panicking more between every shot he heard!
One more shot was fired, and Angela held the sword sideways. Instead of splitting in half, the bullet ricocheted from the sword While doing so, she had the fingers of her other hand placed on the side near the end, and she saw the reflection of her own eyes in the sword.
Scarlet saw Jason panicking behind the sliding door, and ran to him in her fox form! But once she was close to Jason, she saw Max laying on the floor and froze.
Once Thrilker saw the fox, he decided to kill a little woodland creature for fun like he did in his youth! He pointed the gun at Scarlet!
Angela realized that he was distracted, she spun her sword around and stabbed the concrete floor, cracking it. Once that was done, she reached into her satchel and pulled out the BB gun. While doing so, she threw a shuriken to her right, while it spun around, Thirlker fired another shot! And the shuriken collided with the bullet, and with a spark, they both fell to the floor! Her other hand that had the BB gun was pointing towards Thrilker. With a single silent pop, a tiny metal ball flew though the air and hit Thrilker in the lower eyelid, making him flinch in pain. While disoriented, Angela threw another shuriken, with a curved fly through the air like a frisbee, it hit the gun, making him drop it.
Once the gunfire stopped, Carrie ran as fast as her pregnant body would allow her to! Derrick, Sammi, and Penny followed. Jason got up and stood in front of the sliding door.
Thrilker made a run for it, but Angela threw a bolas at him, tangling his legs, and causing him to trip to the ground. Angela grabbed the sword, pulled it from the ground and put it back in her satchel. Drake and Iris stood up. Soon after that, Iris quickly trotted over to Max's body.
The humans made it to the warehouse, and saw the horrible sight under the one ceiling light! Carrie and Sammi covered their mouths and gasped in utter horror! When Derrick and Penny followed, they too gasped in horror!
Iris used her magic to turn Max on his back. She lowered her head down to Max's lifeless looking body worried. Without hesitating, she kissed his chest near his wound, and smiled hopefully. Because she knew her kisses would heal him, or so she thought.
His wound didn't glow! Her smile disappeared.
She kissed his neck, nothing happened!! Her eyes widened.
She kissed his forehead, nothing!!!
She panicked more then before! "Why isn't this working!?!"
"The heart!" Derrick said. "A unicorns healing ability comes from the heart! When the wounded is alive, the wound is simply healed by the unicorn. If the the healing is not working, the heart has stopped, it's too late, it's hopeless!"
Both Carrie and Iris gasped in shock and sadness! Despite Carrie being Max's mother, Iris was the one who was filled with the most grief!
"No!" Iris layed on her stomach and picked Max up and held him in her front legs as if they were arms. He felt so lifeless! "NO!!!" She proceeded to kiss his face repeatedly! She became more worried between every kiss! And in a form of dark humor, if she was wearing lipstick, his face would have been covered comically.
The others watched in sorrow as Iris hopelessly attempted to restore Max!
Iris then stopped kissing him, she used her magic to feel the truth. She didn't sense Max's heartbeat or breathing! She realized, it was hopeless! And suddenly, her heart had a horrible feeling And she remembered every single time she lost a friend to death, but none of them brought her this much devastation!
She held his body closer, more tears than before streamed down her face, and every tear landed on his body! Never in her 500 years of life, has she felt such sorrow, devastation, and grief! And everyone else felt the emotional pain Iris was feeling, but not as much as she was!
She opened her eyes and through the watery sight from the tears, she saw Thrilker getting up and started to walk away. Her eyes narrowed, her lips snarled showing her clinched teeth, she started to breathe heavily, her nostrils were flairing, and sparks of electricity came from her horn! Her eyes turned completely black! She was feeling the one thing no unicorn should ever feel, Rage!
There were suddenly sparkles around Thrilker's neck, he was suddenly floating, he held his hands to his neck, and was flailing and gagging like he was being strangled! Everyone noticed.

Iris raised her head up. "YOU!!!" She pointed her horn towards him. Her horn shot out dark shadow like beams and black lightning towards Thrilker, making him scream in agony! The others backed away in shock and horror as they felt a powerful gust of wind!
"What's happening!?" Sammi asked.
Angela answered. "A unicorns rage, is one of the most deadliest things on earth! He'll die in seconds!"
Drake walked to her with wind from Iris blowing to him! The claws on his feet helped him stay on the ground! "Iris, STOP! He may have killed Max, but you can't harm someone like this! We both know what it's like to lose someone we deeply cared about!"
She started to calm down when she heard her friends voice, and lightning from her horn started too die down. She looked down at Max's corpse, " Max . . . . the feelings he had for me, they were more than just friendship. No one has ever felt that way about me before!"
Thirlker started to laugh. "And he was so easy to kill!"
His laugh made Iris' blood boil! "And..... he...... killed him..... just for knowing . . . ME!!!" Her lightning became strong again and Thrilk's laugh turned to a scream! And this time, he put his hands on his chest which was now having sparkles, like he was having a heart attack!
Drake felt the wind blow his wings. "He may deserve this, but this isn't you! If you kill him, you'll never make a friend again!"
Angela walked to her, next to Drake, and wind blowing through her hair and wings. And just like Drake, the claws of her feet helped her by clawing into the concrete floor. "You're a unicorn, a creature of friendship and magic! Be what you are, what you need to be, what you want to be."
Iris eyes widened, her eyes returned to normal, and horn stopped glowing and Thrilker fell to the ground unconscious. Her full attention then focused on Max again. She held his body tighter and started sobbing.
Jason was confused and walked fast to Iris. Scarlet reached out her arm as if trying to make Jason stop. He was then standing in front of and seven feet away from where Iris was, standing right in front of her, getting the side view of Max's body. "Wait..... He's only been dead for like only two minutes! He was only shot in the back! His brains probably still working! You can still heal him!! If you kiss him on the head in the right spot, you'll save him!!!"
Iris realized Jason's suggestion. "It doesn't work like that! The feeling of friendship, love, and life come from the heart. And that wound was directly through his heart!" She sniffed.
"But.... he. can't die! He's . . younger than me!! He didn't do anything to deserve this!!!" Jason's voice started to crack into a sad tone and he started to tear up. "And he's my friend!!! I've already lost two family members last year and I'm gonna lose sister in law this year!!!! I CAN'T LOOSE A FRIEND NOW!!!!!"
His eyes then flooded with tears, which was unusual because of the medication he takes.
Everyone watched in sorrow as Jason was breaking down. Scarlet walked to him and placed her hand on his shoulder. He prepared his arm to push her away in confused rage, Scarlet saw Jason's arm and was prepared to be hit, but he decided to drop on his knees. "This is all my fault! All I wanted was for this day, was for it to be special, but it ended getting my friend killed! It's bad enough that I suggested to his dad to take him to the mall that ended up killing his dad, and that my idea of a movie night at the school nearly got someone shot, and now, one of my closets friends is dead! I'm so sorry! Iris!" He wept as tears fell from his chin.
Carrie heard the mall part, and suddenly understood Jason's pain.
Scarlet knelt down, too, and hugged Jason. Along with that, she took off his glasses from his head so not to get tears on them. She then transformed into her fox form, with her front fox legs still hugging him.
Iris heard what Jason said and thought she wasn't fast enough.
"Its not your fault, Jason." She sniffed. "It's mine! I wasn't fast enough! I should have sensed that he was in danger, but I was too distracted!" She heard Jason started to sob. "I know exactly how you feel, Jason. Too many times!"
She realized that several times, she would have saved Max! She would have teleported in the ware house when she was close enough and knock out the man! And she would have sensed that Max was kidnapped, but she was too focused on her emotions and the theory!
She raised her head a bit and looked at Max directly in the face with every single one of her tears landing on his face. She used her scraped hoof to lift his dangling head up, and her metallic blood started to stain the back of his neck as his own red blood was staining her coat, which was unusual since a unicorns coat was difficult to stain, because of magic. Her right leg held Max's head up while her other one later across his waist. She felt her lungs overflowing with oxygen every time she inhaled!
"I'm so sorry, Max! I promised to be there for you! But I was too distracted to sense you were in danger! It's bad enough that I wasn't there when my last friend was in danger! And now. . . I failed to save my friend again!!" She sobbed.
She takes great joy from making her friends better, but now, a group that she heavily effected had to live without a unicorn! The main reason why their lives are better! But it's not just her, all unicorns just love to have friends and make their lives better! But now that her main friend is deceased, her task of friendship is complete! And she has to wait for another child to need her friendship, but Max was special! "You needed me," she inhaled sadly. "but I needed you! I may not have spent that much time with you, but I already know. . . that you are the best human friend I've ever had!" She sniffed and sobbed!
She has never felt this much heart break! Max was her most unique friend, she did so much for him! Her friendship with him was unfortunately the shortest of all her friendships! She remembered every great thing she did for him, when she gave Max so many friends! The times she played games with him! Every time she is healed an injury! The times she comforted him in nightmares! The time she saved his life! The times she made him a hero! The dance! And when she promised him a girlfriend!
Derrick wiped away a tear. "The only thing that's more heart wrenching than seeing a dead unicorn, is seeing a heart broken one. Especially one that has lost her friend."
Carrie dropped to her knees, she felt something she hadn't felt since she lost her husband. It was bad enough that she lost her loving husband, now, she lost her firstborn child! She too started weeping and Sammi hugged her. Sammi was also crying. Derrick tried too comfort her by putting his hand on her shoulder. Penny walked to them and started cuddling against them. And in Carrie's stomach, her baby started moving around as if it understood what was going on. And in her feline eyes, Penny shredded tears.
Iris heard Carrie's cries of sorrow. She wanted her to be able too see her son. But instead, she got to be one of the first to see the horrendous sight! And she knew everyone else was going to be here any minute now.
Jason felt something horrible inside him as he wept. It was mostly in his heart, but it also felt like he was being choked! He hadn't felt this much devastation since his grandfather and cat died and the time when he learned about his brother's divorce. But for some reason, the feeling was much, much, worse and more painful! And he hasn't shed that many tears since all the times when he was an over reacting child and every time when he was emotionally tortured in middle school!
While hugging Jason, Scarlet felt the moisture of tears on the fur of her face.
Iris sobbed again. And for good reason too. She'll never hear his laugh again! Never make him feel happy again! Never give him another friend! Never heal his wounds again! Never give him rides again! Won't give him a girlfriend as promised! And never hear him thank her for being the greatest friend ever!
Angela felt something near her eye, she wiped at it, and looked at her fingers to see moist, she realized she was shedding tears! She was confused, she was tough, she fought in both World Wars and she doesn't remember the last time she shed tears.
Drake walked to her, and she saw that on his reptilian like eyes, tears, he then hugged her.
The others cars showed up. Phil and Sherri exited their vehicle, he recognized the building. "I cracked my first undercover case here." He said as they raced to the building! Only to see, they were too late! All of Max's friends ran to the building and they too saw the devastating sight. They all gasped in horror!
Everyone ran to the warehouse, all of Max's friend and the adults. Once inside the warehouse, they all saw the aftermath of the horrible event.
Sammi's friends walked to the warehouse, to see what was going on, only to be stopped by Phil. He knew that the children wouldn't react well to it.
They were confused. "What's going on?!" Phoebe asked. "Did they save Sammi's brother!?"
Phil didn't respond, he just had a depressed expression. He pulled out his radio and walked away. "Officer Jones to dispatch. . . There's been a murder." Phil and Sheri both wiped away tears.
The kids gasped and looked sad, realizing what happened. And the parents walked to the warehouse, and saw what the sorrow was about. The parents then tried to comfort the kids.
Iris' magic was fading, and her shield thing was down completely. Now you'd expect that everyone was amazed at the sight of a unicorn, but you're wrong. No one felt amazement, they felt horrible sorrow! Instead of being amazed by the sight of a unicorn, they were saddened at the sight of a weeping one cradling her dead friend!
Heather saw her son on his knees sobbing with an orange furry creature hugging him, she realized it was Scarlet. She walked to them and placed her hand on his shoulder, and she felt tears.
Sakima's phone started ringing. He answered it. It was his wife. He answered. "Chayton texted me that Max was in danger! What's going on!?" He set it on video chat, she saw her husband with tears on his face. She was confused, until he turned the phone to what the sadness is about. Rozene gasped in shock and felt great sorrow!
Chayton with tears saw Amy too was in tears, he then walked to her and hugged her. Amy gave in and placed her hands on his chest. While doing so, she felt his muscles, feeling so safe in his arms.
"some serious Jason Todd vibes here." Nate whispered as quiet as possible for no one to hear, because he knew that a comic book reference would be very inappropriate. He wiped away a tear.
McKenzie was shocked by the state of the friend that recently had a positive effect on her life, she ran to Trent and he immediately wrapped his arms around her, and they both had tears!
Iris sensed the grief and mourn everyone was feeling, all she wanted was for Max's friend to be here in time to see if he was okay. But instead, witness the most tragic event in their lives! She thought that this was the worst thing she has ever done, but she realized the worst thing she has ever done, was fail to save Max!
María covered her mouth in shock with tears immediately escaping her eyes. Bobby saw that, and with tears too, he hugged her. She accepted and returned the hug.
Adrian looked away with his eyes closed and tears coming out of them. And he was even thinking about paying for the funeral.
Jackie and Chelsea both covered their mouths in shock! They looked at each other and embraced!
Both Daisy and María's mother were shocked as they started to have tears!
The kids may not have seen what was going on, but they could feel the pain and sorrow!
Pheobe and Billy felt strong grief as they wiped away tears.
Both John and Storm Heart felt emotional pain that they usually feel for their ancestors that endured pain and suffering!
Satoshi normally feels sorrow like this during anime deaths, and the trouble his family has been through since World War II but this was more devastating.
And Charlie hadn't felt this depressed since the major deaths in the Harry Potter stories, and like Satoshi, this was more sorrowful.

Iris then remembered that she had a special feeling that occurred every time he thanked her for being the greatest friend in his life, the time they shared a bed together, the time he kissed her cheek, the dance, and the theory! She then realized what that feeling was! Her head leaned in closer next to his head and in his ear she whispered, "I love you." Her sobbing got louder as she held him closer.
During all the devastation, Thrilker who was lying on the floor, heard the sobs, and from the position his body was, he moved his eyes and saw all the people who where distraught by the event. He smiled as he branded this 'His most successful kill,' before falling unconscious.
Yeah, this was intense and depressing. This is not a ratings trap, this was part of the story ever since I started writing this. But next chapter, it won't be sad for long.

Although this is a story about a unicorn, friendship, and romance, this chapter is without a doubt, by far, the darkest piece of literature I have written for now. Along with dark moments, it has terrifyingly realistic issues.
I'm adding some changes to every chapter to make the story better. Along with that, I'm working on a remake of the first chapter. Changes such as Drake and Angela's introduction, Trent and McKenzie's motivation to be in the group, Nate meeting Drake and Angela and talking to Max, saving Storm Heart's family, Trent and McKenzie bonding in the library, Bobby's catchphrase, Jason's introduction, Chayton getting into the group, the name of McKenzie's dad, what Scarlet's human form looks like, how María's name is spelled, and Nate's interests.
If you're a fan of this story, I'd appreciate it If you read those changes. If this chapter is way too dark, I'm hope one day to make a censored version of this. Like the second Deadpool movie or the Batman Beyond movie.

Six Months Ago
Max and his father were at a mall, after some bonding time. They were about to leave.
(John Kazonski's voice) "How was that for some father son bonding?" Larry said.
"It was cool. Jason always told me about how much fun he had when his grandfather took him to the mall."
"Yep, we should do this more often. Also, I got you a little something special."
"Really!?" Max said excitingly. "He gave Max a box. He opened it to see......... A necklace with a hollow silver like heart and half of it was shaped like a unicorn. He looked at his father confused. "Dad, just because I like kids shows meant for girls, doesn't mean I like jewelry."
"It's not for you! It's for your girlfriend." Max was even more confused. "When you have a crush on a girl, you can give it to her. that's how I got your mother interested in me." He had a smug face under his short curly beard.
"So the first jewelry I give to my girlfriend, is a ten dollar thing?"
"It's cheap just in case the girl breaks up with you and decides to keep it, or throws it away."
"That's kinda clever."
"Ready to go home?"
"Hold on dad, I gotta use the bathroom."
"All right, I'll start the car." While leaving the mall, a man followed him.
After using the restroom and leaving it, Max was just mere feet near the door, then he heard a loud sound that sounded like a firecracker. He stopped in his tracks for a moment and wondered what it was. He gestured 'meh' with his shoulders and walked outside.
While walking out the mall building, he saw a masked man holding a knife. Max saw that the mask was a burlap sack with eye holes and a creepy smile drawn on it.
The masked man noticed Max, and ran to a black car and drove off. He saw his father laying on the asphalt of the parking lot. And a police car chased the black car. He noticed that there were sploches of a red fluid that looked like blood on where the masked man walked.
He was confused. Then he saw a paramedic ran out the building and towards the parking lot. He stopped near his father's car and he knelt, Max ran a little bit to the car, but when he got closer, he His dad laying in the ground and saw red stains on his dad's shirt! "Dad!?" When he saw the paramedic treating his father, Max realized what was happening, and froze in his tracks. "Dad!?!" He ran closer near the paramedic.
When a police officer walked to the paramedic, the paramedic spoke. "He's dead!"
Max heard.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!"
He would have just run to his father and tried to hold his dad, but he was too scared! He dropped to his knees, with tears forming out of his eyes! A nearby police officer heard his scream, she understood who he was, she walked to him and tried to comfort him. With the officers hand on his shoulder, everything to Max around him just started disappearing while he had a sad face expression. "Dad." A tear escaped his eye.
After a few minutes of being partly unconscious, Max started to wake up, he couldn't see anything, and it felt and sounded like he was in a car. He started to get scared. "wh.. Whats going on!?"
A stranger spoke. (Brad Dourif voice) "Just to let you know, you have been kidnapped by the future most dangerous serial killer in Utah. The most dangerous and infamous man in Salt Lake City history! A man with a lot of blood on his hands!" Max then remembered the news reports about a possible serial killer! "A man with no remorse, no motive, or real name." Max was then terrified! "A man only known as............. The Saltial Thrilker!"
His fear just simply disappeared and he stifled a laugh. "I'm sorry, What!?"
"It's a combination of Salt Lake City and Serial Thrill Killer! It strikes fear in the hearts of the innocents!"
Max continued laughing. "I'm so sorry for being rude, but your name sounds like an ugly alien species!" He continued laughing.
Max couldn't see it, but the man looked annoyed. "You wont be laughing for long!"
"Help! Earth is being invaded by the Thrilker from the planet Saltial!" He silently cackled. Sure he was being rude, but he did kidnap Max, so technically he deserves this.
He started to get agitated. "You know there's a big chance that you're gonna die!" Max then tried to be scared. The man was then happy about the silence. Then he heard snickering. "WHAT!?!"
"I'm so sorry man, it's just. . . You wanted a stage name that was scary, but that is the opposite of scary!"
"Fine! Just call me Thrilker!"

Thrilker (AN~😖) was then proud for someone to have attention of his name. "Actually, my second choice was a combination Killer, little Motive, and no Remorse. . .Killmenoer!"
Five seconds of silence later, Max made a raspberry sound with his lips, then started laughing harding then before! Thrilker started to get very annoyed.

Iris was using her magic to fix the broken window. And the entire time, she thought of what Max thought about her. Sure like most high school crushes, she liked Max just as a friend, but no one has ever thought of her like that before. She has never had a boyfriend before, so she never felt her real first love. And she knew that Max has never had a crush before. Even after she completely fixed the window, she stood there, thinking about what Max thinks of her. She wanted to talk to him more about it, but she sensed that her friend was laughing and joyful, possibly after hearing a hilarious joke.

Several minutes after the man being annoyed and Max laughing and mocking, the car stopped, Max was dragged from out of the car. He continued laughing. Thrilker took off the sack that was over Max's head. "Okay Mr Killer Clown! What do you.." He looked at the car door "... want?" He stopped because he noticed the car, it was black, with a dent on the door! As he was being dragged, he noticed the scenery was the same place as the drag race was.
He was dragged in the warehouse of that place, he realized who the man was. The man dragged him under a single spot light in the middle of the building. He turned his head to the man. "You're the guy who-" He would have said that he was the one who chased him and Iris, but he froze and his laughter turned to fear when he saw the man's face, Max's face was just inches away from the man's face............. or mask. It was a burlap sack with eye holes and a creepy smile drawn on it! He fell back to the floor with a frightened yelp. "That...... mask!"
The man was then happy that he finally made Max afraid. "Ya like it?" The kidnapper said as he took it off revealing his face with long blond messy hair, and a dirty and scruffy face with a mustache. "Here. Have a closer look." He tossed the mask to Max.
Max got a really good look at it. He had a flash memory of the last time he saw his dad alive. "This mask,.. the mall,.. my dad!... you....." At first he wanted to run in fear, but he realized that the man who kidnapped him and the reason why is father was not alive! The reason why his family was depressed and stressed! Max's fear turned to anger! He stood up, screamed in rage, and tackled him to the ground. "You MURDERER!!" He started hitting the man's face, making him flail a bit. "You CREEP!!!" Thrilker tried to block the punches to no avail. "You're the reason why my family is-" Before he could say anything else, the man pulled out a knife, and stabbed Max in the side!!!

Iris gasped loudly in horror with wide open eyes and teeth showing! She sensed her friend was injured!
Everyone was preparing to go home after being calmed down from the event earlier, until Iris burst into the room, visibly distressed! "Everyone! Max is in danger!!"
Drake and Angela in the cafeteria, still kissing, suddenly stopped because they heard Iris' distress! They ran to the library.
Everyone realized that Max wasn't here! "Where is he?" Carrie desperately asked.
"He's not here! In this building!! And he is in terrible danger! We have to save him!!!" She started hyperventilating in panic
Drake and Angela were then in the library.
"We don't even know we're he is!" Chayton said.
"He's miles away! He's been kidnapped!" Carrie then looked panicked.
"Can't you just do a distant illusion or make the guy who's attacking him feel dizzy until we get there?" Drake said.
"It won't work, the person who kidnapped him has far too much wickedness in his heart! And Max is severely injured!!!" Everyone was shocked.
Bobby some up. "Well let's mosey on an' save 'im!" Everyone agreed with him. Even the kids.
Angela was confused. "You're all coming?"
"He's our friend too!" Trent said.
"He's one of Jason's best friends!" Heather said.
"He did so much for us!" Bobby said.
Sakima stood in front of her. "You saved my family. It seems fair that we save him!"
Carrie thought for a moment. Then she realized what her son did. "They're right." She turned to Iris. "By befriending you, he made their lives better! We should all go!"
Everyone cheered in agreement.
Iris then immediately accepted that fact. "Then let's go save my friend!!"
María noticed something. "Where are Scarlet and Jason!?!"
Heather heard her, and ran to where he son was. She burst in the faculty room. "Jason! Scarlet! Max is in-" She stopped in mid-sentence when she realized what was going on. Scarlet in her giant Great Dane sized fox form, on her back, on the floor, and Jason with his knees on the floor and his hands on Scarlet's stomach. They both looked at Heather.
"It's....just a belly rub, I swear!" He smiled nervously.
Scarlet smiled nervously as she glowed and changed into human form with her shirt up at the bottom of her ribs.
"Not the worst thing can walk in on. But now is not the time, Max is in danger!"
The two made a shocked expression, they got up, and ran to the door.
While everyone was rushing in the hallway, Jason realized something. "Where's my watch?"
Trent walked quickly besides him. "Here ya go!" He said as he gave him a digital watch with a rubber strap. "I snatched it just to be funny."
"How do you DO THAT!?" He asked while putting it back on.
"How did you not notice it was gone? You like wearing so many bracelets." Everyone looked at him in confusion.
"I have skinny wrists."

Max flinched, screamed in pain, clinched his teeth, and fell to the floor holding the place where he was stabbed! The side of his head hit the concrete floor a bit, but he was too focused on the searing pain in his side! He kind of curled up into a ball, and his eyes started to flood with tears!
Thrilker got up. "So, you're the son of the guy I killed at the mall. Larry, right? I learned his name form the news." He knelt to him. "I could slit your throat right now!" He held the knife to Max's neck! "But I'll let you live long enough, because it's about time that one of my victims got to know me. And it may seem cliche that a villain explains his plans to the protagonist, but this will show, that I'm ready to be the most feared serial killer in all of Utah."
Max started panting through his teeth! He hasn't felt horrible pain like this since he broke his arm as a child! With his hands starting to get covered in blood, his eyes drenched in tears because of the horrendous pain!
"Yeah, a stab wound to the side is painful, but not enough to kill someone fast. I would kill you right now, but, I'm having too much fun talking to you. But I still want to kill you."
Max tried to crawl away and stand up to run, but the man placed his foot on Max's leg.
"It's no use escaping, I've already embarrassingly let ten victims escape from me. I've only killed six people. But I won't let you get away. As payback for making fun of my name and attacking me, let's start with this." He picked up a metal rod, held it overhead, and slammed it down!

After exiting the building, Iris started panicking more as she sensed her friend was getting hurt more! "We have to hurry!!"
Everyone ran outside and waiting for Iris to say something.
Angela noticed that Iris was standing looking visibly stressed as she sensed that Max was getting more injured by the second! She was in too much of a state of panic to think of a plan, Angela was worried that she might fail to save a friend! But she realized how Iris can get there in time. She remembered that she learned to lead attacks in war from her father. She spoke up loud. "Iris? You magically leap across buildings so you can get there in time! Me and Drake will follow! The rest of you? Iris will text you the location to where Max is!"
The parents and kids went into cars. While Trent went on his bike. Nate, Amy, McKenzie, Chelsea, and Jackie all went to the limo. Adrian (AN~that's the name of McKenzie's father that sounds better) noticed how his daughter looked determined to save a bit she just met a few months ago. Realizing that a unicorn friend changed her life!
Heather saw that Jason ran to Carrie's car instead of hers, then she remembered why she and Carrie showed up, to pick up the children. John, Satoshi, Charlie, Phoebe, and Billy went into her car.
Carrie, Derrick, Jason, Scarlet, Sammi, and Penny boarded the car. With Derrick in driver's seat, he realized a little flaw. "If we're in a rush, we might get pulled over!"
Jason sitting behind him spoke up. "Saving Max is worth breaking some traffic rules!" He clapped and pointed towards the windshield. "Lets go doc!!" Scarlet sat on the seat next to him with Sammi in the back seat.
"I'm not really a doctor."
Carrie realized something. "We might not be able to get there in time!!"
Iris heard the desperate cry of Carrie. She wanted for her to be able to see her son as soon as possible!
Derrick got an idea. "Drake, how strong are you?" He asked Drake standing near the driver seat.
After she heard Derrick, Iris got an idea that would help them get there faster. She closed her eyes, her horn glowed, and she spoke. But when she spoke, it echoed slightly, and it sounded partly like horse sounds. "Da huic vehiculo, fugae virtute!" A beam of light came from her horn towards the car. And it started floating!
Everyone in the car exclaimed in shock as they felt like they were in an elevator! Scarlet, surprised by the lifting car, had fox ears pop out!
Angela realized that Iris would be too busy leaping across buildings to help herself. Gargoyles usually only glide on currents of wind, but with Iris' magic, she constantly has a gust of wind behind her and can make her fly like Drake. And the moment she saw the floating van, she did an action movie side flip, and with a small thud, she was on the roof of the car, and gripped onto cargo racks. Everyone was startled by the thud, but somehow knew it was Angela.
Drake then grabbed both sides of the back of the car, spread his wings, and jumped!
Everyone exclaimed in shock by the feeling of the car floating. Jason thought of something. "Is it inappropriate or appropriate to say 'buckle up?"
Sammi was amazed by her mother's possible future boyfriend. "Great idea, Mr- sorry, Dr Phillip!"
Derrick exclaimed in fear. "This is NOT what I had in mind!"
Iris texted everyone else to where the location Max is, and they went off!
Carrie decided to have road safety at the best time. She buckled up and held on to her belly!
Penny started yowling, and dug her claws in cushion next to Sammi! As the car moved, the tag of her collar jingled.
Iris jumped high and far with a rainbow trailing her! Drake with the car that had Angela on top in hand, followed her!

Max, now covered in bruises, layed on the ground in pain, still holding the stab wound! Now afraid at what's happening! Terrified if he was not gonna survive this experience! His pantings in pain started to sound more scared! "HELP!! ANYBODY!!!
Thrilker then placed his foot on his neck! "It's no use. No one can help you, and you're gonna bleed out soon."
Max heard what he said, and remembered what Nate once said what a horror movie victim could do to survive. He quickly took off his shirt, leaving only his undershirt, crumpled it into a ball and placed it on his stab wound.
Thrilker noticed and understood his attempt. "Very clever. But it won't be enough to save you." He dropped the rod with a clang. "I could kill you right now, but lucky for you I'm having too much fun talking to you. How 'bout I tell you my origin story. Lets just say, being a killer is in my genes. My dad killed five children in just one month. And my grandfather killed a woman who owned a unicorn."
Max made a surprised face, forgetting all about the pain for a moment, for he realized who the man's father and grandfather were!
"Along with that, my uncle tried to hold a baby at a mall for ransom, my aunt was a member of the Manson family, my cousin was a school shooter, my great uncle bragged about killing Japanese traitors during World War Two, one of my ancestors was a notorious killer outlaw in the west, another one of my ancestors led an indian massacre, and another of my ancestors captured slaves from Africa. Basically my family was full of killers, and I wanted to be one of 'em. So I tried to be as bad a kid can be. I did as much damage as I could in my youth, beat up kids smaller than me, and kill little animals. And destroy other people's houses like set fires and break into places and trash 'em."
Max with his remaining strength, kicked the man's shin, like a little child. But it was the best he could do.
He groaned in pain. "And you remind me of all the nerds and freaks I use to have fun with. I use to take or follow them in a secluded area, my first year in high school, I just did some harmless punching and kicking, tying them up to pulls, locking 'em in closets, stealing their things, and crushing their dreams. When I was young, all I did was harmless violence. But as I got older, I started to have even more fun."
Even with the sharp pain in his side and minor pain all over his body, Max decided to make a joke. "So...... you're ...... a modern day ....murderous ..greaser?"
"Basically. School was the perfect place for freaks, police and parents said I was a danger to society, sure I sent some people to the hospital and made some people lose some toes or fingers, but it was all worth at the end. Horror movies and documentaries about killers really inspired me to have fun. For example." He leaned down with a box cutter in hand.

Iris sensed that her Max was getting more injuries! Not just one injury, Several! She panicked more for every new injury max got! She leapt again. After several leaps, she was in an area of the city with five story buildings.
She wasn't just leaping over buildings, she was running on top of buildings! She leapt off that building! Between every jump, she was more determined to get there!
She remembered the impact she did for all her past friendships, and she feels such great pride and joy making lives better, the main reason she loves herself and her magic! And she wanted her friendship of Max to last longer!

Max now had tiny cuts all over his body, bleeding in several places! Max was horrified that the stranger might cut him more! But luckily, he put the box cutter away.
"I had good times in my youth." Thrilker said as he finished his fun and stood up. "And now, I'm having the time of my life. With every kill I did, I made criminals think that it was safe to commit crimes in the most Christiany city in the country. I motivated a guy to try to kill a family of savages, motivated a guy to try to rob a rich girl, I motivated several attempted car jackings, I convinced a friend of mine to steal a bike and make it a prize in his rigged drag race, and from what I learned from the news, I inspired a kid to seek revenge on a girl who got him in trouble."
Max felt realization. Realizing that he was responsible for all the life of death situations he and his friends were in!
"Part of the fun, is spreading fear, and what better way, then being the most ruthless serial killer in the most 'Christiany' state. But it wasn't all killing, I did some robberies, some home invasion with no one in the house, and I tried to cat fish losers into signing up for a useless thing." He turned to Max. "but now, since I kidnapped you, I'm ready to be more, I'm gonna be every kind of serial killer in one. Sadistic, Cannibal, sexual. Child killer!"
Max realized one of Iris' abilities. "Any . . . minute now . . . my friends will be here . . . and, kick your butt!" He said while he tossed a small nearby rock it the man's back.
He groaned in pain again. "Sure, they will, but they'll be too late. In the mean time." He held a long dish towel and wrapped it around his neck!

Iris was only half way there! But she sensed that her friend was getting hurt more! She then literally ran up the wall of a tall building!
While galloping on the roof of a building, Iris remembered all the horrible times she lost a friend from death. Most of them were her friends on a death bed. But the one that affected her the most, was the most recent, she blinked, and she remembered the horrible night that happened all those years ago.
(AN~ I changed it from fifty years to thirty two years)
Late at night, she was trotting home after visiting a friend. She then sensed that her friend was afraid, but she thought she was just having a nightmare. She continued trotting home. Until she felt that her friend was hurt. She gasped! And started galloping!
After half a mile, she was home. Once she came inside, she saw the horrifying sight. Her friend's old cranky neighbor, with the neck of a broken bottle, and a bloody fist. And on the floor, pieces of broken glass, a pool of blood, and her friend laying on the floor, non responsive! She sensed no emotions or feeling in her friend! Meaning one thing and she knew what.
"NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Her friends family heard the scream, ran to the front room, and saw the horrible sight.
When she saw the old man walk to the door, the unicorn felt something.
The flashback was ending with a bright flash, but a man screaming was heard. And the husbands voice. "Rose, NO!!!"
She opened her eyes, and continued. She leapt off the building to another. Once on the other building, she jumped over a little chimney like item, she jumped over it, but while doing so, she scraped her shin, she was then bleeding! She was in too much of a hurry to notice the thick silver fluid that was her blood on her leg!

Max gasped dramatically as Thrilker let go of the towel.
"Some people call me a coward for killing defenseless people, but to show that I'm brave enough to kill, I'm giving you the chance to fight back." With his foot, he nudged the metal rod closer to Max and knelt down.
Max grabbed the metal rod, stood up, and swung it towards him!

Miles away, other cars that had Max's and Sammi's friends were driving fast, which fortunately, Phil driving in the lead as part of a police escort.
Phil already failed to save five children, though Max was not a child, he was still determined to save him!

In another car, Chayton was amazed at his father, he never saw him care this much about some one who was white. Then again, he and his mythical friends saved them. He and his sister hangout with such diverse groups! Along with that, he didn't care about his friends being different skin color, Drake is green, Angela is gray, and Iris is literally white.

In another car, Heather knew how much Max meant to her son. She hasn't seen him so happy since her own father was alive and since that her oldest son had an apartment of his own, a way for him to play games and watch movies that were not allowed in her house. And with Iris' magic, Jason can do things he's always wanted to do and be the person he's always wanted to be without anxiety or stress! And she was determined to get there.

After being hit several times, Thrilker had had enough. Max started charging at him! But at the last second, he stepped out of the way making Max trip and loose grip of the rod!
"Just to let you know, I'm not gonna kill you now, I'm just gonna tell you my origin story. The story of how I became a killer." He placed his foot on a bruise on Max's leg. "It all started when I was expelled from my fifth school."

Iris felt something on the side of her head, a sweat drop! She hasn't sweated in a century! She remembered that if a unicorn uses magic too much, they'll be exhausted! She wanted to get there in time!
She sensed that she was close enough to stop leaping on buildings. She leapt off her last building and started charging towards a supermarket building with no intend of jumping!
Instead of crashing into the wall she was heading towards, her horn glowed and her body became partly transparent, and she just ran right through the wall! But not in a cartoonish crash, she phased right through it like a ghost!
She was running through the store. Running past shoppers who were exclaiming in shock of the unicorn running and they were even moving out of her way! Several children were amazed by the sight of a unicorn and adults thought they were crazy! She was heading to the wall of the other side of the building, but she became transparent again and ghosted through the it.
Along with that, she was still transparent in the parking lot, she was running through cars both parked and moving, phasing though everything in her path! And people in cars were in shock! But thanks to Iris' magic, not enough to crash.

While pushing the flying car, Drake was determined to save Max. He saved Angela when he first met her, saved dozens of children from fires, and he wanted to save a friend just like his grandfather did! Iris saved his father's life, it seemed fair that he saved someone that Iris cares about!
Carrie felt something in her abdomen. She looked down to see a bulge form her belly. She realized what was happening. She started rubbing where her baby was kicking as if trying to calm him down.
Jason and Scarlet decided to hold the hand grips next to their seats and they then, with their free ones, held each others hands!
Penny decided to take drastic measures, she leapt to Sammi's lap, and she wrapped her arms around the kitty.

In the warehouse, Thrilker was enjoying telling his story. "I had to do something to keep myself entertained since I was no longer allowed to be in my favorite place full of freaks, so I thought of something. After watching horror movies, like The Strangers, Hush, and The Purge, (AN~ do not watch those movies if you are sensitive, those movies are not for the faint of heart) I was inspired. Home invasion sounded like fun, but I didn't kill anyone then. But I still had fun. I had a special method of horror, I break into the homes of people, stab and tear apart a pillow in front of them, give them the chance to hide, then when I find them, I stab them with a retractable knife. It was all part of a prank at first. It was so much fun doing that."
"Why would . . . you give up such a satisfying hobby?!" He asked with great anger in his tone along with sarcasm.
Thrilker picked up a brick from off the ground. "Well, one day, while pranking an old lady," He turned to Max. "I grabbed the wrong knife." Max's eyes widened in horror.
He turned around and threw the brick!

Iris felt Max receive another injury! She tried to run faster while phasing! But she realized that that too would exhaust her. She kept to the street without using magic!
She realized there might be a faster way to get to where Max is, without using that much magic! She saw a fence, and behind that fence, was a creek. Without any second thought, she leaped over the fence! But instead of splashing in the water, she didn't, instead she 'stood' on the water! And she started galloping again, but instead of leaving splashes, each foot step left a gentle ripple.
Drake saw Iris through the tree branches above the creek and continued following her!

Max held his now broken shin bone in pain! Every injury he got was worse than the last! Several times, he hoped to be in his bed every time he closed his eyes, because he wished it was all a dream, but it was far too real!

Iris leapt out of the creek and galloped as fast as her horse legs can. She was just a mile close to Max!

"After that, I couldn't stop, every horror movie I watched inspired me. I followed every trope, unknown name, creepy mask, and no emotion while killing. Some of my victims? I had good reasons to do so. One of 'em, was a gang member who turned to a life of crime just to support his family. Another, was an officer that tried to arrest me for attacking a guy with crutches. Two of 'em, they were working hard for their daughter. And your daddy? I've been following you all around the mall, I saw you were interested in, and I heard you say that you like kids shows for girls, I would've killed you, but it be more fun to kill your daddy! And he gave quite a fight. So basically, it's all your fault!" Max glared furiously at him while feeling sorrow and guilt. "And you," Thrilker let out a cackle as he crouched down near him. "You're friends with a dozen freaks! Especially that magic donkey!"
Max suddenly filled with rage, forgot about the pain his whole body was in, and kicked Thrilker in the face with his non-broken leg! "Don't talk about Iris like that! She cares more about life and her friends than your own mother did for you!"

Iris was then half a mile close to the place where Max was! and she was close enough to hear Max's words with the aid of her magic. She was shocked when Max defended her like that. She was just mere seconds away from Max!!! As she heard the air rushing, she was determined to get there in time!

Thrilker rubbed his face, then he remembered what Max said before he abducted him, he laughed wickedly. "I don't believe this." He chuckled. "No!" Iris was just a quarter mile close!! "Are you in love with that thing?!" Max glared.

Iris was suddenly at an old abandoned warehouse, the same warehouse where the drag race she partook in weeks ago. She galloped to the door, until she heard Max's voice.

"Yes." Iris suddenly stopped in her tracks at the big slide door doorway of the warehouse. "I. am. in love. with a unicorn." He spoke with clinched teeth. He struggled to stand up with all of his strength that was growing weaker by the second, he stood up with his legs trembling and one hand holding his shirt on his stab wound. Iris was than filled with powerful emotions! "I am in love with a UNICORN!!!" He yelled as the sound echoed across the building walls. A single tear escaped Iris' eye. Max felt something, and turned around. (Romantic piano music was heard) He saw the silhouette of what he was all too familiar with. "Iris." He felt a great amount of relief knowing that she will heal him.

Drake saw Iris standing in front of a warehouse. He flew lower and was about to put the car down.

There was suddenly a loud explosion like sound! It echoed in the building making birds fly away! (The music stopped) During that, Max's face suddenly went to a shocked expression! He was feeling an unexplainable pain in his chest and back that felt worse than any of his other injuries! He tried to scream, but the pain was far too immense! He dropped his shirt.
Iris eyes widened in utter shock and horror! And tears. "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" She screamed at the top of her lungs! It too echoed. And her eyes flooded with more tears instantly!!
Drake, after landing, and placing the car down, heard the explosion and the scream! He ran to the warehouse, While Angela jumped off the car and followed him. Jason opened his door and was about to run to the building.
Drake and Angela were standing right next to Iris. They both gasped at the horrible sight!
From a minor impact to his back, Max fell to his knees, revealing to the three mythical creatures that Thrilker was holding a gun that had smoke coming from the muzzle!!
He moved his eyes down for a second. He saw a little hole and a growing blood stain on his shirt on the part of his chest where his heart is!!! He placed his hand over it as if trying to stop it bleeding more!
Jason ran to the warehouse, and he was horrified at the site!
With a sad expression, Max looked at Iris one last time and reached out his hand to her, and fell to the floor, with a scorch mark on the left side of the back of his shirt, his knees bent pointing to his left, and his right arm out, Unresponsive!!!
Thrilker then pointed the gun at Iris! Drake, Angela, and Jason gasped in shock again as they realized what the man was going to do!
Drake realized iris was too distraught to cast a magic shield! "IRIS GET DOWN!" Thrilker fired a shot! Drake tackled Iris to the ground, making her head miss a bullet by an inch! Jason jumped and hid behind the other side of the giant sliding door.
Thrilker then pointed the gun to where Iris was on the ground! But Angela ran, jumped, did a role in mid air, and landed five feet in front of Iris and Drake! Just mere seconds before Thrilker shot another round, Angela reached into her satchel, and (in a slow motion shot) she pulled out a sword three times the length of the bags height! While holding it upside down from pulling out of the bag, Thirlker shot a round! But once the bullet was close to her, the blade split the bullet!
Thrilker was shocked by that, and shot another round. Angela held the sword upwards, and again, It split in half!
Carrie heard the gunshots and panicked!
He was shocked again and fired again! She held the sword horizontally and swiped it, making the bullet split again with one half going above her head and the other hitting the concrete between her feet!
Another shot was fired and Angela held the sword in a heroic pose and the bullet split in half.
Another shot was fired, Angela pointed the sword forward, making the bullet hit the very tip of the double edge blade, making it split in four pieces!
Another shot was fired, she waved the sword sideways, hitting the bullet with the side of it, knocking it out of range!
Thrilker was getting annoyed between every shot with the casings falling to the ground!
While Angela was holding off the bullets, Jason hiding behind the wall of the outside of the building, was panicking more between every shot he heard!
One more shot was fired, and Angela held the sword sideways. Instead of splitting in half, the bullet ricocheted from the sword While doing so, she had the fingers of her other hand placed on the side near the end, and she saw the reflection of her own eyes in the sword.
Scarlet saw Jason panicking behind the sliding door, and ran to him in her fox form! But once she was close to Jason, she saw Max laying on the floor and froze.
Once Thrilker saw the fox, he decided to kill a little woodland creature for fun like he did in his youth! He pointed the gun at Scarlet!
Angela realized that he was distracted, she spun her sword around and stabbed the concrete floor, cracking it. Once that was done, she reached into her satchel and pulled out the BB gun. While doing so, she threw a shuriken to her right, while it spun around, Thirlker fired another shot! And the shuriken collided with the bullet, and with a spark, they both fell to the floor! Her other hand that had the BB gun was pointing towards Thrilker. With a single silent pop, a tiny metal ball flew though the air and hit Thrilker in the lower eyelid, making him flinch in pain. While disoriented, Angela threw another shuriken, with a curved fly through the air like a frisbee, it hit the gun, making him drop it.
Once the gunfire stopped, Carrie ran as fast as her pregnant body would allow her to! Derrick, Sammi, and Penny followed. Jason got up and stood in front of the sliding door.
Thrilker made a run for it, but Angela threw a bolas at him, tangling his legs, and causing him to trip to the ground. Angela grabbed the sword, pulled it from the ground and put it back in her satchel. Drake and Iris stood up. Soon after that, Iris quickly trotted over to Max's body.
The humans made it to the warehouse, and saw the horrible sight under the one ceiling light! Carrie and Sammi covered their mouths and gasped in utter horror! When Derrick and Penny followed, they too gasped in horror!
Iris used her magic to turn Max on his back. She lowered her head down to Max's lifeless looking body worried. Without hesitating, she kissed his chest near his wound, and smiled hopefully. Because she knew her kisses would heal him, or so she thought.
His wound didn't glow! Her smile disappeared.
She kissed his neck, nothing happened!! Her eyes widened.
She kissed his forehead, nothing!!!
She panicked more then before! "Why isn't this working!?!"
"The heart!" Derrick said. "A unicorns healing ability comes from the heart! When the wounded is alive, the wound is simply healed by the unicorn. If the the healing is not working, the heart has stopped, it's too late, it's hopeless!"
Both Carrie and Iris gasped in shock and sadness! Despite Carrie being Max's mother, Iris was the one who was filled with the most grief!
"No!" Iris layed on her stomach and picked Max up and held him in her front legs as if they were arms. He felt so lifeless! "NO!!!" She proceeded to kiss his face repeatedly! She became more worried between every kiss! And in a form of dark humor, if she was wearing lipstick, his face would have been covered comically.
The others watched in sorrow as Iris hopelessly attempted to restore Max!
Iris then stopped kissing him, she used her magic to feel the truth. She didn't sense Max's heartbeat or breathing! She realized, it was hopeless! And suddenly, her heart had a horrible feeling And she remembered every single time she lost a friend to death, but none of them brought her this much devastation!
She held his body closer, more tears than before streamed down her face, and every tear landed on his body! Never in her 500 years of life, has she felt such sorrow, devastation, and grief! And everyone else felt the emotional pain Iris was feeling, but not as much as she was!
She opened her eyes and through the watery sight from the tears, she saw Thrilker getting up and started to walk away. Her eyes narrowed, her lips snarled showing her clinched teeth, she started to breathe heavily, her nostrils were flairing, and sparks of electricity came from her horn! Her eyes turned completely black! She was feeling the one thing no unicorn should ever feel, Rage!
There were suddenly sparkles around Thrilker's neck, he was suddenly floating, he held his hands to his neck, and was flailing and gagging like he was being strangled! Everyone noticed.

Iris raised her head up. "YOU!!!" She pointed her horn towards him. Her horn shot out dark shadow like beams and black lightning towards Thrilker, making him scream in agony! The others backed away in shock and horror as they felt a powerful gust of wind!
"What's happening!?" Sammi asked.
Angela answered. "A unicorns rage, is one of the most deadliest things on earth! He'll die in seconds!"
Drake walked to her with wind from Iris blowing to him! The claws on his feet helped him stay on the ground! "Iris, STOP! He may have killed Max, but you can't harm someone like this! We both know what it's like to lose someone we deeply cared about!"
She started to calm down when she heard her friends voice, and lightning from her horn started too die down. She looked down at Max's corpse, " Max . . . . the feelings he had for me, they were more than just friendship. No one has ever felt that way about me before!"
Thirlker started to laugh. "And he was so easy to kill!"
His laugh made Iris' blood boil! "And..... he...... killed him..... just for knowing . . . ME!!!" Her lightning became strong again and Thrilk's laugh turned to a scream! And this time, he put his hands on his chest which was now having sparkles, like he was having a heart attack!
Drake felt the wind blow his wings. "He may deserve this, but this isn't you! If you kill him, you'll never make a friend again!"
Angela walked to her, next to Drake, and wind blowing through her hair and wings. And just like Drake, the claws of her feet helped her by clawing into the concrete floor. "You're a unicorn, a creature of friendship and magic! Be what you are, what you need to be, what you want to be."
Iris eyes widened, her eyes returned to normal, and horn stopped glowing and Thrilker fell to the ground unconscious. Her full attention then focused on Max again. She held his body tighter and started sobbing.
Jason was confused and walked fast to Iris. Scarlet reached out her arm as if trying to make Jason stop. He was then standing in front of and seven feet away from where Iris was, standing right in front of her, getting the side view of Max's body. "Wait..... He's only been dead for like only two minutes! He was only shot in the back! His brains probably still working! You can still heal him!! If you kiss him on the head in the right spot, you'll save him!!!"
Iris realized Jason's suggestion. "It doesn't work like that! The feeling of friendship, love, and life come from the heart. And that wound was directly through his heart!" She sniffed.
"But.... he. can't die! He's . . younger than me!! He didn't do anything to deserve this!!!" Jason's voice started to crack into a sad tone and he started to tear up. "And he's my friend!!! I've already lost two family members last year and I'm gonna lose sister in law this year!!!! I CAN'T LOOSE A FRIEND NOW!!!!!"
His eyes then flooded with tears, which was unusual because of the medication he takes.
Everyone watched in sorrow as Jason was breaking down. Scarlet walked to him and placed her hand on his shoulder. He prepared his arm to push her away in confused rage, Scarlet saw Jason's arm and was prepared to be hit, but he decided to drop on his knees. "This is all my fault! All I wanted was for this day, was for it to be special, but it ended getting my friend killed! It's bad enough that I suggested to his dad to take him to the mall that ended up killing his dad, and that my idea of a movie night at the school nearly got someone shot, and now, one of my closets friends is dead! I'm so sorry! Iris!" He wept as tears fell from his chin.
Carrie heard the mall part, and suddenly understood Jason's pain.
Scarlet knelt down, too, and hugged Jason. Along with that, she took off his glasses from his head so not to get tears on them. She then transformed into her fox form, with her front fox legs still hugging him.
Iris heard what Jason said and thought she wasn't fast enough.
"Its not your fault, Jason." She sniffed. "It's mine! I wasn't fast enough! I should have sensed that he was in danger, but I was too distracted!" She heard Jason started to sob. "I know exactly how you feel, Jason. Too many times!"
She realized that several times, she would have saved Max! She would have teleported in the ware house when she was close enough and knock out the man! And she would have sensed that Max was kidnapped, but she was too focused on her emotions and the theory!
She raised her head a bit and looked at Max directly in the face with every single one of her tears landing on his face. She used her scraped hoof to lift his dangling head up, and her metallic blood started to stain the back of his neck as his own red blood was staining her coat, which was unusual since a unicorns coat was difficult to stain, because of magic. Her right leg held Max's head up while her other one later across his waist. She felt her lungs overflowing with oxygen every time she inhaled!
"I'm so sorry, Max! I promised to be there for you! But I was too distracted to sense you were in danger! It's bad enough that I wasn't there when my last friend was in danger! And now. . . I failed to save my friend again!!" She sobbed.
She takes great joy from making her friends better, but now, a group that she heavily effected had to live without a unicorn! The main reason why their lives are better! But it's not just her, all unicorns just love to have friends and make their lives better! But now that her main friend is deceased, her task of friendship is complete! And she has to wait for another child to need her friendship, but Max was special! "You needed me," she inhaled sadly. "but I needed you! I may not have spent that much time with you, but I already know. . . that you are the best human friend I've ever had!" She sniffed and sobbed!
She has never felt this much heart break! Max was her most unique friend, she did so much for him! Her friendship with him was unfortunately the shortest of all her friendships! She remembered every great thing she did for him, when she gave Max so many friends! The times she played games with him! Every time she is healed an injury! The times she comforted him in nightmares! The time she saved his life! The times she made him a hero! The dance! And when she promised him a girlfriend!
Derrick wiped away a tear. "The only thing that's more heart wrenching than seeing a dead unicorn, is seeing a heart broken one. Especially one that has lost her friend."
Carrie dropped to her knees, she felt something she hadn't felt since she lost her husband. It was bad enough that she lost her loving husband, now, she lost her firstborn child! She too started weeping and Sammi hugged her. Sammi was also crying. Derrick tried too comfort her by putting his hand on her shoulder. Penny walked to them and started cuddling against them. And in Carrie's stomach, her baby started moving around as if it understood what was going on. And in her feline eyes, Penny shredded tears.
Iris heard Carrie's cries of sorrow. She wanted her to be able too see her son. But instead, she got to be one of the first to see the horrendous sight! And she knew everyone else was going to be here any minute now.
Jason felt something horrible inside him as he wept. It was mostly in his heart, but it also felt like he was being choked! He hadn't felt this much devastation since his grandfather and cat died and the time when he learned about his brother's divorce. But for some reason, the feeling was much, much, worse and more painful! And he hasn't shed that many tears since all the times when he was an over reacting child and every time when he was emotionally tortured in middle school!
While hugging Jason, Scarlet felt the moisture of tears on the fur of her face.
Iris sobbed again. And for good reason too. She'll never hear his laugh again! Never make him feel happy again! Never give him another friend! Never heal his wounds again! Never give him rides again! Won't give him a girlfriend as promised! And never hear him thank her for being the greatest friend ever!
Angela felt something near her eye, she wiped at it, and looked at her fingers to see moist, she realized she was shedding tears! She was confused, she was tough, she fought in both World Wars and she doesn't remember the last time she shed tears.
Drake walked to her, and she saw that on his reptilian like eyes, tears, he then hugged her.
The others cars showed up. Phil and Sherri exited their vehicle, he recognized the building. "I cracked my first undercover case here." He said as they raced to the building! Only to see, they were too late! All of Max's friends ran to the building and they too saw the devastating sight. They all gasped in horror!
Everyone ran to the warehouse, all of Max's friend and the adults. Once inside the warehouse, they all saw the aftermath of the horrible event.
Sammi's friends walked to the warehouse, to see what was going on, only to be stopped by Phil. He knew that the children wouldn't react well to it.
They were confused. "What's going on?!" Phoebe asked. "Did they save Sammi's brother!?"
Phil didn't respond, he just had a depressed expression. He pulled out his radio and walked away. "Officer Jones to dispatch. . . There's been a murder." Phil and Sheri both wiped away tears.
The kids gasped and looked sad, realizing what happened. And the parents walked to the warehouse, and saw what the sorrow was about. The parents then tried to comfort the kids.
Iris' magic was fading, and her shield thing was down completely. Now you'd expect that everyone was amazed at the sight of a unicorn, but you're wrong. No one felt amazement, they felt horrible sorrow! Instead of being amazed by the sight of a unicorn, they were saddened at the sight of a weeping one cradling her dead friend!
Heather saw her son on his knees sobbing with an orange furry creature hugging him, she realized it was Scarlet. She walked to them and placed her hand on his shoulder, and she felt tears.
Sakima's phone started ringing. He answered it. It was his wife. He answered. "Chayton texted me that Max was in danger! What's going on!?" He set it on video chat, she saw her husband with tears on his face. She was confused, until he turned the phone to what the sadness is about. Rozene gasped in shock and felt great sorrow!
Chayton with tears saw Amy too was in tears, he then walked to her and hugged her. Amy gave in and placed her hands on his chest. While doing so, she felt his muscles, feeling so safe in his arms.
"some serious Jason Todd vibes here." Nate whispered as quiet as possible for no one to hear, because he knew that a comic book reference would be very inappropriate. He wiped away a tear.
McKenzie was shocked by the state of the friend that recently had a positive effect on her life, she ran to Trent and he immediately wrapped his arms around her, and they both had tears!
Iris sensed the grief and mourn everyone was feeling, all she wanted was for Max's friend to be here in time to see if he was okay. But instead, witness the most tragic event in their lives! She thought that this was the worst thing she has ever done, but she realized the worst thing she has ever done, was fail to save Max!
María covered her mouth in shock with tears immediately escaping her eyes. Bobby saw that, and with tears too, he hugged her. She accepted and returned the hug.
Adrian looked away with his eyes closed and tears coming out of them. And he was even thinking about paying for the funeral.
Jackie and Chelsea both covered their mouths in shock! They looked at each other and embraced!
Both Daisy and María's mother were shocked as they started to have tears!
The kids may not have seen what was going on, but they could feel the pain and sorrow!
Pheobe and Billy felt strong grief as they wiped away tears.
Both John and Storm Heart felt emotional pain that they usually feel for their ancestors that endured pain and suffering!
Satoshi normally feels sorrow like this during anime deaths, and the trouble his family has been through since World War II but this was more devastating.
And Charlie hadn't felt this depressed since the major deaths in the Harry Potter stories, and like Satoshi, this was more sorrowful.

Iris then remembered that she had a special feeling that occurred every time he thanked her for being the greatest friend in his life, the time they shared a bed together, the time he kissed her cheek, the dance, and the theory! She then realized what that feeling was! Her head leaned in closer next to his head and in his ear she whispered, "I love you." Her sobbing got louder as she held him closer.
During all the devastation, Thrilker who was lying on the floor, heard the sobs, and from the position his body was, he moved his eyes and saw all the people who where distraught by the event. He smiled as he branded this 'His most successful kill,' before falling unconscious.
Yeah, this was intense and depressing. This is not a ratings trap, this was part of the story ever since I started writing this. But next chapter, it won't be sad for long.
