I was frustrated. I always feel like my drawing skill isn't where I want it to be, and trying to make everything meet my high expectation on frustrates me and keeps me from actually making anything. Two nights ago I went wandering in my head looking for help, help with my frustration and help with productivity. A flash of a wolf standing in green with vivid eyes struck me, and I tried to sketch it. I got frustrated. I didn't like it. But I inked it anyway. I didn't like the ink, but I was starting to get excited just to be making something. Then I painted it, and then played around and had fun detailing it, and finished the whole of the work in about 24 hours. And now I can't stop looking at it. Not what I saw, but close. It is finished, and it is enough for me that I finished. Amen.

I really like this style. I think I find the white outlines in the background very lovely. I also very much like the various shades of green used throughout this piece. The white used highlight the wolf's fur is also beautiful.
I've had episode of not liking my work when I begin, but it becomes something greater as I move along. It comes as a bit of a confidence booster for me.

Thank you! It is something I've been stumbling across. I did a series of smaller ACEO size painting in a similar manner a year ago (not posted), and even some of my digital stuff displays some tendency towards those little details. I started my white lines on the wolf and leaves and then they wandered up into the background. Which I enjoyed immensely. Expect to see more, I really find this process satisfying.
I always go back and forth about my art. Part of the learning. I am glad you're gaining confidence, keep at it! <3
