Well, I didn't get over my loss and it started to translate to my work in my classes. I learned two things from this picture: 1) some photos don't translate into paintings and 2) don't EVER EVER start a picture without first putting down the background. Sadly, every art store around here was out of peach black watercolor, so I had to special order it. Well, my classes still had to go on and I still had to work....so I started on the cat without having my black. Big mistake. This picture was so much better before I had added the black which forced me to put more contrast on the cat. And my professor like it before the black as well, lol. It was a good learning experience if nothing else.
