Three crazy friends wanted to join a statue contest without having one, so they made one, but that went really bad!


The biggest sculptors event of the year will start next week.
The three friends saw the news from the newspaper that invited sculptors from all over the city to show their sculpted statues to win a big prize, the first place would take $ 50,000, it was a lot of money for a event like that and this caught the attention of friends who were in great need right now.
Derik was an anthropomorphic wolf with Gray fur and he was super friendly, Lyo was a griffin with dark brown fur, he also was the craziest of the group, and Fire who was the nickname of his other dragon friend, he was red so that justified his nickname.
The three friends always walked together and united, did their adventures and crazy things always together. They met at Lyo's house to see if there was any chance of participating in the event and maybe win $50.000, imagine what they could do with that money, but how they are going to make or find a statue in less than 1 day?
After a few hours of searching, they discovered a witch in the region who made potions for the most diverse purposes, from healing any wounds, to transforming creatures completely or also changing physical aspects, she was an expert in that but not that many people knew about her, also witches were uncommon here.
The three friends then had an extremely crazy idea.. to transform something from home into a sculpture or anything that was necessary to win the prize, even a plush or something else, but after they analyzed the regulation better, it said in one of the rules "Only those who have sculptures of animals are able to participate in this event. ", so after several hours of planning, they decided to go to the witch to ask them to help them.
When they got there, they explained to the witch that they wanted a potion that would be able to transform any plush or object into a statue for at least three days, the deadline was enough to start and finish the competition that would take only one day at the weekend. After three hours, they received a message that the potion was ready, at the time of picking it up she said "I will need you to sign a contract of use, this potion will only transform and reverse the effect after three days as requested, a total of 72 hours , you won't even be able to distinguish if the object you used is a real statue or not, do not use any other potions during that time, I will not be responsible for alternative effects, understood? "One of the friends then signed the contract and in agreement to the witch, together they went to Lyo's house again.
Then the day of the event came, two hours before they were there, the friends decided who would take the potion, and after minutes of discussion they did stone, paper and scissors to see who would drink that potion, the unlucky one was Fire, who lost the challenge.
Fire then took the potion in one go, as required in the flask, and after a few minutes he noticed the effects begin to appear. The first change he noticed was his body getting tired and heavy, at the same time even moving was becoming harder, it was like he weighed a lot of pounds, and it didn't take long for his friends to notice the changes too, Derik then spoke for Fire “Don't forget to do a pose that will guarantee us the prize”, that made Fire a little uncomfortable but it really was true, who would like to see a statue that isn’t happy or fierce at all? So Fire stood still while the changes were taking place, first his paws were fixed on the stone pedestal, changing to same texture as the base, light gray in color, then the gray hard texture went up the rest of his body, consuming his legs, torso and finally his neck. Fire did not know how to react, it was strange but very comfortable at the same time, the sensation of the fresh air running around his body, it was even giving him chills. In less than two minutes his whole body was petrified, only his face was not covered by the texture, he could not move a muscle, Fire couldn’t help but see the texture covering his vision, his muzzle and finally determining that from there, his weekend would be like this, fixed in just one position, looking forward, but as long as they win any placement prize it would be super awesome.
Lyo and Derik looked in surprise at what was in front of them, the most incredible dragon statue they had ever seen, every detail, its look, everything was phenomenal, but of course they knew that there was their friend, and therefore they would have to speed up things because they had less than two hours to go to the event before the it starts. So the two used some of their strength to drag Fire into the mini truck they had rented to take to the event, luckily Fire was not very heavy, just over a ton, but it was a relatively light weight for statues of that size.
The friends arrived at the event just ten minutes before start, the two friends joined the contestants area and registered themselves, after that they took Fire to the back gate of the event where staffs would place the statues, each participant had their statue positioned on a base that would move slowly to the center of the stage, so that would help them by not having to bring a super heavy sculpture every moment, meanwhile, Fire felt a bit strange, afraid of the other animals and creatures to notice him and at the same time uncomfortable by the fact that it had several other statues on his sides. Then the show started and there were several incredible sculptures passing by, there was over twenty statues on this event from Frogs and Insects to Dragons and sea creatures, when Fire's turn came, his friends were worried about people knowing too, but it ended up being no different than the other participants, no one even noticed that Fire had been a real creature, they just saw a well-sculpted statue made by the "brothers" as they stated so they could join, so certainly said they were the creators of that piece and took them years of building. So after all the sculptures passed on the stage and voted by the judges and the public it was time for the award moment. In third place was the statue of a flamingo, perfectly sculpted with a lot of dedication by a talented artist, in second place was the statue of a tiger with a fierce looking that surprised the audience, and first of all the statue of a dragon, in polished gray stone, standing on all fours with a fierce looking too, It was way more awesome than the previous participant with his tiger statue, the dragon statue was Fire of course, everyone was very surprised by the quality and realism of that work.
The host of the event then said, "Congratulations on the incredible work you two have done, you won $ 50,000 and a special prize!" the two friends were super anxious to know about the special prize, and then the presenter said "The special prize is: our team will apply a layer of gold around your statue, increasing its value considerably and also making it indestructible for thousands of years!" ... Lyo looked at Derik happy and worried for a moment, even thought to ask the presenter if that … he didn’t even have time to say a word because he was stopped when the statue of Fire came in the stage, completely golden, shining with the lights, everyone was shocked seeing the beauty of it.
Then the event was finished, the presenter told the staff to bring the statue back to their friends' truck so they could leave, they left without having the chance to ask anything about it.
Then a day passed after the event, and Fire was supposed to be back to normal around 6 hours sooner. Derik and Lyo were getting worried so they decided to call the witch again, after an hour she arrived to analyze the situation.. she looked at Fire for a few seconds and said "Didn't you two apply another potion or effect to it, or did you, wait.. you used the potion on your dragon friend??" she replied shocked, then Lyo replied “Not really, we participated in an event and as a surprise prize they applied a layer of gold over our friend”... The witch then laughed with concern and said “Well, sorry but there is nothing I can do, the effect was supposed to be over 6 hours before, I recommend that you see with those responsible for it, the contract said that I was not responsible for any side effects “. The two friends stared worried at each other for a few seconds, and the Witch then apologized and left.
They were facing a big problem, would Fire be like this forever? At that moment, Fire only wanted to do anything, but inside he was desperate, he tried to move, to speak, to do anything, but his body did not respond with even a movement, if he could only cry, but even that was not possible.
The friends then left Fire in the garage where they had stopped the truck, and went straight back to the event venue for help, meanwhile Fire was on fully dark in that garagem, hoping for the best but almost crying inside, they had to explain to the event host that they wanted to reverse this and after finding him they started talking with the presenter, the host shook his head saying “No I can do this, but get in touch with this guy, he is who makes the applications of materials and changes to statues and objects, maybe he can undo it, but why someone would want it? Everyone would prefer a gold statue than a stone statue, but you two decides of course.” The friends thanked the presenter and ran to the address of the man he said. Arriving at the place they found the man doing his work with other statues, so they asked him to undo it, he said it was not possible, the layer was a permanent application and as it was gold so there was no way for them to melt or undo it, if he did that, it would damage and even crack the statue, he apologized to the brothers but there was nothing he could do.
Hopelessly, Derik and Lyo returned home, stared at Fire deeply, and he looked at the two of them already imagining the result, apparently this was his fate from now on, they had $ 50,000 in hand but that costed his friend’s eternity. The two started to cry as Fire looked at them, already wondering where would be the new place where he would live for the rest of his life, a museum? A park? Their friends garden? only the future would say. After a few minutes the Witch called them saying "Hello, I think I found something that can help, two potions that can reverse these effects, but it maybe will take a few days to get ready, also I can't guarantee that it will help!"
The brothers were super happy and Fire at that moment started to have hope again, so the next day the potion was ready, it was time for the final test, the Witch put one after the other, the liquid dripped over Fire, after that nothing happened, the four started to be hopeless again, but after a few minutes they noticed that the gold was disappearing, along with the stone layer, Fire could now move his paws, then his torso, and in a few minutes he was perfectly normal, being able to walk, breathe, fly and be a living and happy creature again .. The friends got close together with Fire, all embracing themselves.. this was probably the happiest day of their lives, mainly for Fire.
