as for the form, even the rat form is for Eternal, who actually is just an abstract construct of the nothingness, it is just an attire, his favorite one, but just one among many to chose from^^

With the spots in his fur pattern and slight tufts on his ears, I imagine that Eternal might be a lynx breed Cat in this form. While he may be a rat in his baseline avatar as shown with his Charr avatar he does look good as a feline, which does hold true as well for his gnoll avatar given that hyenas are cousins to cats. Fun again to see the common touches, the crystal pendant and with both these forms the trefoil/fleur de lys type symbols.

I imagine Eternal chose this avatar to fit in without trouble though having been a case of poor timing. Given the Cats treatment of the Lizards and the other species I imagine Eternal would sympathise with them, though I remember the rats themselves weren't overly pleasant so I suspect Eternal would find himself in some trouble, though nothing he can't get himself out of.
