So it's draw Mohammad day and I've decided to draw him. The Fry & Lewis version and in my own style.

Amazingly I even put some time into it, which I haven't been doing much lately.
I still think it's ridiculous to censor because of threats. It's acquiescing with the supposition behind the threat, which is that not just criticism but any image of a religious figure is blasphemy. Actually any image of anything is blasphemous, including all those lovely Mughal miniatures. So here's my totally blasphemous image of a cute little mouse newly and conveniently introduced in Over The Hedge today.
Hmm, I'm not sure if the depth works on the tail. It still looks two-dimensional to me.

"Mohammad" is a common Middle Eastern boy's name, isn't it? One could easily argue, if confronted with threats from Muslim types, that isn't the Prophet Mohammad, but a mouse just named Mohammad. I realize this is the equivalent to bowing to threats, and that isn't good, but still, it's such a common name that anyone being criticized can say, "No, not that Mohammad!"
