The first 3 are representations of the artist's perception of their pic.
In the first one, they see what they think they should be seeing, a normal drawing of an umbreon.
In the second one, flipping the art has the effect of exposing some skewing-biases and other imperfections that for some reason are not easily seen in the unflipped version, be it due to exposure blindness or whatever. Very useful to fix drawings during the sketch phase!
In the third one, flipping vertically kind of confuses the brain and you can't fully process the tiny errors so it usually looks like a more perfect version of your drawing.
The third one happens because after uploading you look at your pic with renewed and more critical eyes and notice some infuriatingly obvious mistake like missing a leg :P

Somehow, the innocently-derpy facial expression makes the missing leg even better. You know he knows. And he says nothing. He watches you suffer under the guise of the oblivious smile... but...
