I assumed they just arrived and didn't do that yet.
The shark seems fresh off the ship, so maybe it's the one he arrived with.
Though i don't know in which order they'd do things when landing.
Could very well be that the sails get packed away first thing, before the sharks leave ship.

Even it looks easy I spent a tons of time to imagine what would be the easiest way to do it. And in the end I spent too much time constructing the city anyway, even most of the things are just silhouettes and simple forms. >.> But I learned a lot, and I'm happy you like the result!
Ok, just going to ignore the characters for a moment to say.
I love the long stretch background in panel 1. Simple, yet detailed.
In fact, I just love how you zoom into the characters from each subsequent panel, drawing focus from the background, as the characters are drawn in more detail.

Thank you for the compliment for the background! I tried my best to make a great balance between simple and detailed, I always feel success if I manage to do that. I rarely draw cities or such a big scenes, so I'm glad!!!
To be honest you guessed right my intentions with the zooming! I carefully tried to think through what would be the best way to introduce the cherecters and the environment at the same time! ^^ I just realised in this year I should play more with zooming in comics. There're always a lot to learn.

The perfect background music for this would be an instrumental version of the old British folk song Maggie May-
Oh, dirty Maggie May
They have taken you away
And she'll never walk down Lime Street anymore
The judge he guilty found her
For robbing a homeward-bounder
You dirty, thieving, no-good Maggie May
