The Time Cake Relic
It was a fine afternoon, the sun was bright and shining and the breeze was gentle. Lana and I were at my home discussing what would make a good birthday present for Szuzu. She couldn't really come up with anything clever and I was at a complete loss myself. Lana noticed something that was in my closet and pointed out to it, "Hey Sol? What is that? I see something glowing in your closet and it looks shiny." She said interested in it.
I looked in the closet to take it out and I showed it to Lana. Lana knew what it was. "A-A Time Piece!? How in the world did you get that?" she asked. I told her about the adventures I go on with my team. With how many worlds Team Telethia visits, it would be no surprise that my teammates and I collect a few antiques or collectibles along the way. After elaborating, Lana had an idea spark in her head. “Hey… Sol? You know how Szuzu loves strawberry shortcake? What if we made one out of a time piece?
I was about to disagree but then the facts were there; Szuzu likes encountering Hat Kid, playing in Hat Kid’s world and seeing those lovely time pieces. It started becoming a wonderful idea, so Lana and I proceeded to make the cake. Before we could tackle making the cake, Lana pulled on my star shaped tail. She wanted to ask something, “Wait… couldn’t I just wish for one? You’re a wishing dragon right?” she asked.
“Well… It be more fun trying to cook it. I can use my rod to imbue it with actual time piece properties.” I replied. Without further delay, we got started on the cake. The entire process had taken about 1 to 2 hours, 30 minutes to prepare the batter and the rest of the time to bake it and clean up. Once it was done baking, we decorated the cake and added the last touches. When it was ready, I casted a time property spell on the cake making it just as powerful as a regular time piece. Lana was excited to show this off as was I but we had to wait until the day came. We prepared to place the cake in a safe spot until Szuzu’s birthday, but then, Lana had tripped over one of the baking rolling pins on the floor causing the cake to fall. I tried to catch it as it landed on my arms safe taking a sigh of relief. But then, as I tried to get back up, I hit my head on the pipe above accidentally dropping the cake as it hit the ground. Surprisingly, it had not turned into chunks upon falling apart but smaller pink, white and red-white time pieces. There were 30 scattered across the entire province upon separated. Lana had wanted to apologize for the mess she started.
“It’s no problem.” I replied, “This does gives me an idea though. What if we did a hunt for the pieces? It’ll be like a scavenging game. We could have Szu help us recover the pieces to reveal his surprise.”
Lana replied content, “You think so? Well oki. If it would make it more fun. This is exciting!”
So we took the rest of the day off. Lana went to see Szuzu and told him about a special relic that would appear only if we collected special colored time pieces. Szuzu was curious as Lana also mentioned it was a special relic only meant for him as well as she and I had found out about it. With this news, Szuzu would look forward to accompanying Lana and I in the search for the time pieces. I on the other hand, took the time to develop a device that can detect strawberry time pieces.
About a week later, we began doing the search with my house being the starting point.
The search had taken us to various spots throughout the province. The first few pieces were very easy to get given one of them was near my home. Some were scattered in water and even in trees. Though there were few places we would never expect to see them in. Some of the pieces were sitting idle long enough to create rifts in space where the pieces would be sucked into. The first day we encountered ten of the pieces and decided to take the time to relax. Szuzu had spoken, “Sol? As fun as collecting these pieces have been, where do you think we can keep these time pieces? They’re starting to pile up. We can’t keep all of them in our hands and they most certainly won’t fit in our bag. Two can barely fit in there.”
“I haven’t had the foggiest of clues.” I replied. “I mean I didn’t even think they would turn out to be this big.”
Szuzu then examined me as I was a Nesquishinite. I was a bit confused at how he looked at me. Then he pokes my belly as I giggled. “Hey!”
“Your stomach is very spacious. You wouldn’t mind having a few pieces drop in there until we collect all of them right?” he said. Lana perked in response to Szuzu’s suggestion. I responded blushing a bit, “I uh… I dunno if that’s a good idea? What if they break?” Szuzu picked up a few time pieces and came back to me. “They wont break. Not with that stomach of yours.” He climbed up my big body.
“Just cuz’ my stomach is squishy and flexible doesn’t mean--" he had stuffed a few in my mouth as he himself entered into my maw. “Hey Lana? Help me out here, take a few of those pieces and hand them to me. I think I might stay a night in our friend’s gut.”
I was surprised from the sudden decision he made; however, I didn’t pay it too much mind right after. “You don’t mind having me in there as well Sol? I wanna be with my Szu~” she asked. I nodded as my mouth was full. Szu was handed the time pieces as he dropped them down my throat as I swallowed them. Once they all made it down my belly, Szu would soon slip himself down my throat with the rest of those time pieces once he hugged me. Lana would follow headfirst after Szuzu and the two would slide down diving into the goo filled belly. They would get a decent view of outside while relaxing since my belly was semi-transparent. We would speak or talk about stuff as the night rolled on and eventually catch some sleep. Once morning came, I would let out Szu and Lana through my maw and we would continue the search.
We did mostly the same thing again the following nights leading to the day we would claim the final time piece which was on Szuzu’s birthday. When the final strawberry time piece was collected, it resonated with the rest as the other 29 pooled energy to turn the final piece into the Strawberry Time-Cake. Szuzu was taken back by surprise. “This time piece? This is the relic? It looks almost like a strawberry shortcake.” He smiled, “Did you two reeeally find this on your own?” he tested Lana and I. We both looked at each other looking almost innocent. We then sounded with a big, “Surprise” to Szuzu as his face was beaming with delight. He couldn’t believe his eyes still from what he saw.
“We had this made but, because of our clumsiness, we kind of broke it.” I continued, “Though it looks better than ever.”
Lana then continued from where I left off, “I hope you love it love~. We made this with a lot of care towards it. Well… prior to breaking. We’re sorry for that.” she said to Szuzu. Szuzu responded with a heartfelt hug to both of us.
“You both really made one of the best cakes I’ve seen in a while and the way you presented it was fun! Thank you!” he said happily. Lana and I responded to him towards his thanks and we all soon spent the rest of the day keeping Szuzu company whether it was adventuring or hanging out. Though all things do come to an end and we went on doing the stuff we love.
