"Stay here, mutt," one of the men scolded. Balto, front and back legs tied with ropes and mouth sealed by a strip of his own blanket, didn't have much choice, especially with his captors' guard dog standing watch over him. But he couldn't help but tug one of his bound forelegs, only to be reminded that these ropes were too tight to slip out of.

"Yeah, wolfie, you be a good boy," the guard dog snickered, sauntering up to the wolfdog, enjoying every second of seeing him so helpless.

"Rrrrnn," Balto growled through the gagging blanket. He'd been sleeping soundly when three men and the dog came bursting into his boat and binding and gagging him. He overheard something about a mission to send all wolfdogs out of Nome, which only added to Balto's fear.

"Pfft, don't even try to get out of this, you freak. We're doing this town a service by getting rid of all you lowlife hybrids," the guard dog replied.

"Ynngmm dnndnph, lmmmghnn!"
