Fanart of Jabor from the Bartimaues books. They're fantastic and you should read them if you like a slightly different take on your typical YA fantasy. It takes place in a world where summoning demons (or djinns as they prefer to be called themselves, demon is actually seen as a slur lol) is an every day normality. The summoning however is pure torture fo the djinns, and you sooin realize that the summoners are actually the villains of the story. And a bunch of elitist, classist assholes oppressing the non-summoner "muggles". So basically the kind of sorcerer society you'd get if Voldemort would have won.


As for Jabor, the centuries of enduring slavery have turned him a little mad. I imagine him white lips & nose, perpetual spittle flying from ever angry mouth and glowing yellow eyes full of hatred. Also some sweet tribal tats, Hitoshura style. His look is strongly inspired by the jaguar staue from El Dorado...
