I guess this falls under the category of vent, so apologies for that! cx
I spend a lot of time working on things besides art, because I once aspired to get into video game development and I guess despite realizing that'll never happen hasn't stopped me from creating all kinds of concepts based on various ideas I've had by some fashion or another, some original, some... not so much. XD I'm looking at you, Pokémon: Generation "X"!
But all that time spent just toiling away at something, only to get sidetracked by another new idea and promptly leave the previous one in the dust... I figure you can probably see part of my problem lol
In my defense, if I was to make it to a position where I could actually get one of these concepts out of the concept stage and into actual development, I wouldn't allow myself to just leave it as a half-baked idea. I've been on the receiving end of that enough times to know how bad it feels to play a game that sounded cool but ended up being a dud. That's why I insist on putting so much effort into these projects.
But it's still pretty draining, trying to work all these things out on my own, making and tweaking formulas for calculating things, thinking up entire plotlines and all of the characters to go with them, even trying to flesh out the in-universe lore and other background things like entire ecosystems...
But at the very least, THAT is probably one of my biggest problems today, and there are -far- worse things to be dealing with than over-ambition. At least I don't have the plague! cx
