I used to have that bully in school (in the desc). "Hey nerd, playing with your stupid magic cards? Trading pokey-man? Hah, what a loser." Then I caught them at a local pokemon TCG event and, while we didn't become actual friends, we did start hanging out in private because they were just as nerdy, but they had the cool kid/bully facade to maintain. It was a weird balance, they bullied me at school still (less so, more of a 'cant let others know' thing), then we'd meet on weekends and talk shop about how to tweak our decks.

Funny how a picture like this can bring back memories like that.

Even bullies got to admit being a nerd is cool sometimes.

The problem ended up that, after a while, I went from being a nerd to a hipster. "I liked pokemon before it was cool!" kinda stuff. Turned that to my advantage when I changed schools, though. Turns out kids are lazy about getting things they wanted, so eevee breeding paid for my lunch most days.

Nerdification is adorable and underrated, this fills a void I needed filled.
