Ink 20 #28/Story 16: Floating on air
“Did you just call me dirty?! AND A STRAY?!”, I yelled out.
“Yuh-huh! I mean it’s not like you’re on a leash or anything, right?”, he said with a candid smile.
“This place smells almost as bad as the alleyway I almost died in, hehe.”
Mm. You know what?
Snapping his neck WOULD minimize the amount of cleaning I’ll have to do afterwards.
Would the lake south of the apartment do? Nah. Airheads float so it wouldn’t buy me enough time.
“Now that we settled that, I have something I want to show you! Sit girl.”, he said as he tumbled over to our room in haste.
OH! I could dig. Haven’t done that in a while. There's this really nice spot-
He came back moments later with an odd box in hand. I swear to the almighty mistress, if this man got me a collar, I am going to-
“Happy one-month anniversary! I was supposed to give it to you while we were out but…We both know what happened so-”
He opened the box to reveal the prettiest necklace I’ve ever seen in my life.
It so was mesmerizing, it almost felt like I was looking at the real thing.
Although, at the same time, looking at the gray metallic sheen it was giving off made my body began to tense up on sight.
I stepped back, quite mortified:
“I-Is that-!”
Drystan noticed my reflex and proceeded to step forward. He was shaking his head, a confident smirk on his face.
“Hypoallergic silver.”, he responded. “Figured that with how much you liked staring at the moon, you’d like always having it with you.
Although in hindsight, not the greatest plan, huh? Haha.”
He… He can’t remember personal space basics and yet figured that I was allergic...
This guy… just can’t be real.
