Ever had that feeling deep down where you were in a situation that made you feel trapped in a cage where there was no escape from the cruel words and harsh remarks from the people that expected so much from you, that it didn't turn out the way they wanted it to be? That's what this picture symbolizes. Why would Grace be in it while those cruel people from outside are ridiculing her with tomatos? None of them understand that Grace and her friends were only doing what they were told to do, and never meant for 2D Animation to be no more at Disney or for things to go downhill afterward when it was the man behind the company that used them for his own selfish deeds. It was never the fault of HOTR itself that the company was screwing things up, but some people will do anything to foolishly and blindly take their anger and frustration out on anything, refusing to hear the rest of the story. Not only was this picture based on that fact, but also my situation of what this could mean for my future when I used to dream of being a Disney animator, feeling that everything I did was all for nothing, wondering why I was still in college. It came to a point where I started to doubt my talents and love for old school Disney, scared that there was no more room in this world for the little guy, or for old school Disney fans if people don't accept you for who you are. That's what it was like to me when I drew this years back sometime in 2005.
