Hard to believe it's already been a full year! The Wilson family celebrates Melissa's first birthday, and unfortunately, daddy seems to be an especially bad influence this year with regards to table manners. Tawny isn't terribly impressed, but that's because she knows how much of a mess will need to be cleaned up later. I'm sure she'll cook up appropriate disciplinary action for her fuzzy lunkhead once the lights go out.
Okay... I guess an explanation is in order. Ever since Sonic the Werehog became a thing and I read Kayla Na's comic "Obedience Training", I've secretly toyed with the idea of Wac being a closet werecoon. Normally he's a bit uncomfortable being around his family when he has an episode every month, but it's a special occasion this year. A full moon on Halloween makes a perfect cover for his appearance, he wouldn't dream of missing his daughter's first birthday, and most importantly of all... there's CAKE!!!
There's a few other implications of Wac's condition. The reason it took a few years of trying to have his second child is because he's [finally] found that he's infertile while normal. As such, both of his kids were conceived during a full moon. He's also especially fertile during his transformation, which is why his first kid, Miles, was a bit of a surprise, despite Tawny having an IUD. 8)
Oh yeah, by this point Wac has finally received his acrylic eye prosthetic, so he doesn't wear the eye patch anymore. On a normal Halloween, he always dresses up as a pirate, of course.

They went pretty far from artist creating a fictional character for the purpose of keeping his libido in check. Then again after so much time, Tawny probably started to feel like an actual woman he could love to the point of raising a family. Which there were more images to portray the thought process of desiring to raise a family with his own creation.
It's a shame I can't finish off the comic, but the essence is that Wac isn't a creator of anything, really. I let him "share" some of the credit for the Backing Out comics, as those were made back when Wac was my avatar. Shortly after I left college I stopped using him as an avatar, and other than a short, unsuccessful stint on FurryMUCK, I never did any kind of role-play, so he's essentially been "released" to make his own choices. I did that around 2003, I think, but didn't make it publicly official (or let Wac "know" about it) until the start of the main Wacintosh Files arc. That arc was something I had wanted to do for years but didn't get around to it until 2008. I'm super slow at everything.
His choice was to marry Tawny, and of course since her biological clock has been ticking, she wanted to have kids ASAP. Wac was a bit... unsure about that at first. There was supposed to be a whole storyline about the two of them discussing a timeline for getting married and having kids, and the interruptions that delayed that by a year or two. That's what I'll have to write for the epilogue when I get the chance. Individual comics are usually written on the spot, but the outline for my arcs, and what I want to accomplish with my stories, are all written in full ahead of time. I think I need proofread my notes a few more times to ensure it's all consistent before I post it publicly.
The next picture I post is going to be a bit of a shocker and some of my long-standing fans may not like it. I'll have to have a proper justification, even if I can't give out the whole story. 8)

Oh, I'm around almost every day and leave tons of comments. I just don't like bothering people with my personal affairs, so if I don't have any new art to show, I can be invisible for months at a time.
We're all survivors, even though some of us have found it a bit more or less difficult than others. Good luck and take care of yourself. 8)

Oh, there's SO much more to tell.
I have a tendency to hoard all my ideas until I can "get around" to drawing them. It's time I put my foot down and accepted there won't be any more comics. I really think the whole "slice-o-life" thing is the right decision, as each new picture will be accompanied by a short story and will finally allow me to finish what I started.
