He looks kinda... wolfish. Not really much like a hedgehog. Maybe it's just his lack of spikes in this version. Now if this is that new weird werewolf version... then maybe. =3

Not a bad image, but I wouldn't have guessed it for Sonic if not for the letterinf.

I don't really like pointed noses, they look bad on male characters in my opinion, No he's the normal sonic just not traditional style. I Thought about adding spikes but I preferred to give him long spiked hair to sort of represent spikes, when ever i saw him in games they never really looked like they were solid, more like they were soft like hair

More so than this I think. Without the style of eyes the original had it doesn't get that beady eyed hedgie look across enough. And without the spikes on the back it gets very had to tell.

Maybe to some it looks more like how they would see Sonic, but I'm not seeing it.

Sonic was a stylized cartoon animal, but at least he had some more traits than you placed in this rendition. Yes, spikey hair is good, but can you really say hedgehog without spike on an anthro? Take those spikes out and it's a blue and cream colored wolf.

And as a side not, because I feel like I struck a nerve... I'm not complaining about your art itself. Just on the presentation.

i never said you were complaining, but it seems a shame that such a well loved character is so one dimensional that taking away a few traits renders him unrecognisable

if you did Sonic... you should do Rouge, or Cream.

yeah you really have to sort of break the rules of it to make it work anatomically but then again i dont think the original creators had porn on their minds when coming up with the design!

Now that's the style he needs to be in. With all the fanfic/drawing pairings of him, be it your own character or not makes total sense with him like this as the total boy toy package. Also explains why he can cut through metal and not get bruised, he's totally buff. But there's one thing you forgot with him, he's a nudist. All the boys in the series are nudists lol. But anyway, he looks great like this, and I love how you represented his spikes/quills with long, somewhat spiky hair. Really looking forward to whenever you do Tails.
