The Dachshund sat in his chair in front of his computer monitor, looking for another part time job. He was barely able to pay his rent for the past two months and being a college student isn't cheap. For the longest time he has been looking for job openings so that he could increase his income. Rent to personal expenses and college tuition leaves his bank account almost empty. Then one day he found something that caught his eye, "Oh, this looks interesting." he says to himself. He spotted an add for a job at a haunted attraction, now hiring. He looked at his calendar, October is only a few days away. "Hmm, yeah this could help me with my financial troubles in the short term before I find a more permanent job." With that, he added the webpage to his favorites and wrote down the address's haunted attraction. "I'll visit the place tomorrow."
The next day he drove over to the site of the haunted attraction. Not too far from where he lived, it was about an hour's drive. When he got out of the car he had a full view of the building where the attracted is located. It looked like a mansion from two centuries ago. The mansion was three stories high, looked like a long rectangle with had two square towers on both ends and the entrance was a semi-circle. The building was white with red roofs. "Looks like the best place for a haunting!" He eagerly walked up the building and met a Red Fox wearing a suit and top hat. "Hello, are you here for a job?", asked the Fox, "Yes.", replied the Dachshund. "Good, here I'll get you a form that you can sign and be back here tomorrow." With that the Red Fox gave the Dachshund a form and the Dachshund. The next day the Dachshund returned with the form all signed. Delighted, the Red Fox quickly arranged to have the Dachshund's dimensioned measured. When asked why this was necessary, the Red Fox assured the Dachshund that they were just measuring him for his costume and told him that his job will start tomorrow on October 1st, at 5:00 PM sharp, but also told the Dachshund that he should show up at least an hour earl to preparations. The Dachshund understood and did as he was told.
The next day on October 1st at 4:00 PM, the Dachshund returned to start his first day at the haunted attraction. It was chock full of different employees, all entrusted with a certain task. Some were conducting last minute checks on the props, others were tour guides rehearsing their lines while others are the performers getting into costume. The Dachshund was able to meet the Red Fox. "Ah, you're here! Good, good. We have your costume all ready!", the Red Fox told the Dachshund. "Great! But, what am I wearing exactly?", enquired the Dachshund. The Red Fox gave the Dachshund a toothy grin. "This!", he exclaimed and pointed to a bear holding an unsettling garment. It was gray with a black strap on the middle of the front torso, black straps on the back, sleeves and even a black strap at the crotch: a straightjacket. The Dachshund looked at it. "Uh, a straightjacket?", he asked. "Yes," replied the Red Fox, "but you'll also need those pants." The Red Fox pointed to a pair of blue pants that were a darker shade than the Dachshund's eyes. The Dachshund shrugged.
He stripped down to his T-shirt and underwear, put the blue pants on and then extended his arms. The Red Fox then slid the gray sleeves over his arms. The Dachshund looked at the sleeves, shewn shut at the ends where the straps are attached. He could feel the Red Fox fasten the straps against his back and then saw the Red Fox's handpaws grab his sleeved arms and cross them through the strap at the torso and around his body, effectively leaving the Dachshund in a 'self-hug' position. Finally, the Red Fox fastened the crotch strap. The Dachshund fidgeted in his straightjacket. "Hey, this is kind of cool!", said the Dachshund. "And you're not done.", replied the Red Fox and before the Dachshund could respond he felt a brown leather muzzle being placed on his snout. "G'mmph!" He then felt the straps on the muzzle get fastened. The muzzle kept his snout shut and with only a hole for his nose anytime attempt to speak would sound like muffled none sense.
The Red Fox looked at the Dachshund. "Good. Good. Thank you so much for picking up the job! Now, this job will last the entire month, from now until Halloween. In that time, I expect you to show up every night at around the same time. Understand?" The Dachshund nodded, unable to speak. "Good. So, this will be your uniform. Now, the attraction is open at 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, so get comfortable because you are not getting out of that until 9:00. Understand?" The Dachshund nodded. "Good, now follow me and I'll show you your post. It's mental asylum-themed and you're the patient, but I am sure that you already figured that out." The Red Fox led and the Dachshund followed.
