This thing appeared in many a dreams as a weird gator thing I can't outrun to save my life! Not a bad thing, he's very big and cuddly. So finally I given him a 'face' some time ago. Here it is!
"Gatordog" appears here and there in the story I am working on (bleh, part 4 now). Gatordog is the name given to him by a 'dream dragon' (I'll draw him eventually), since he couldn't pronounce the creatures actual name (Grrrbarkruffgrrrr click click click?!!).
This somewhat insulting name "Gatordog" stuck with him and later became Neko's (protagonist, fauxbird) rambunctious 'pet'. Only to speak roughly in incomplete sentences, Gatordog appears to be nothing more than a mindless animal. Much to many demise and surprise, he is intelligent as any other sentient being; though he does make one guess sometimes.
When in attack mode he behaves much like a rabid pit bull; foams at the mouth and shakes his head when his jaws seize into a target. His body is thick skinned and in certain areas heavily armored; his eyelids are also armored.
His design is based upon a archosaur (none in particular), a dog (ears/stance) and a ram air car hood (look at his nose!).
Length from nose to tailtip is 35ft
Gatordog swims well as runs on land; either suits him fine.
sex...seriously?!! He's male, single and enjoys eating people who call him 'blue eyes'. Species: unknown but many think he is a type land dragon.
The dorsal spikes serve as 'heat dissipation' whenever he runs at full speed , a sight to behold and menacing. Air passes through his 'hood nose' and exits out 'gill slits' behind his ears (hard to see), otherwise he breaths through his 'car hood nose'. Lastly Gatordog pants like a dog and makes a weird growl/bark noise whenever excited or angered =^.^=
Gatordog is © to me.

PS
Design is highly subject to change. This is a color test.
Otherwise he's a hariless 'Equidasaur' (specie I created).

the nose made me think of bug catchers or similar hood-mounted intakes... you automotive nut, you. XD would he need protective mesh over it, so nobody gets caught in it?
interesting character concept indeed. the spikes remind me of a cyberwatchdog from the Snowcrash novel...
