So I finally tried out Corel Painter like I've been meaning to do, and I'm seriously impressed with it. Tried it out on a sketch I've had lying around for a while, and I must admit the program actually puts the joy back into digital painting...ya know, the joy that Photoshop tends to suck out of you while you try to bend the program to your bidding.
The line art is just pencil, and the final lighting and background texture is done in Adobe, but the rest is all Painter.
A special thank you to *CausticStock for the use of the killer stone wall texture. Check it out here --> http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/44046132
Believe me, once you go *CausticStock, you won't go back to any other.
