This Reference is a year old now, and I wanted to tweak some stuff that was on the original. Long story short, I've been replaying Pokemon Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon, and it holds a special place in my heart. When I completed the game's main story, I've had the idea to reflect my progress into this artwork. I also drew it in a way so it somewhat resembles the official concept art for some characters from the anime/games, with the clothing being a modified version of the Kommo-o outfit. That's all I have to say about the creation origins; How does Alolan Champion Maury work?
Game Role (Sword/Shield ver.):
Fallen from a dimensional rift in time and space, He is responsible for orchestrating the Trials of Alola in the Galar Region, testing trainers who are strong enough to face him and his own Elite 4. While he holds a code of honor, the darkest pit of his den hides how monstrous embodiments of war saved him from eternal rest under a land of spears and stone.
Anime Role:
He used to watch over and protect the Alola with wisdom and strength, Until he sacrificed himself when fighting against the onslaught of Team Rocket. He soon awoke in a strange new world, with no memories of his past; found by young trainers. Only pieces of what he used to be came to him in time, until much, much later when his life is in danger once again. The Painful Sounds of his past haunting him with each moment, draining his emotions with megalomania and despair.
TCG Card (Supporter):
Remove all effects of Attacks and Trainers on each player and his or her Pokemon. During this turn, the Attacks of your Dragon or Colorless Pokemon do 20 more damage to your opponents Active Pokemon (before applying Weakness and Resistance).
