"Monique Cloudbreaker's heart is in her feet. When it broke, there was almost nothing that could've fixed it."
It's true, in a way.
She was one of the most promising showgirls on the circuit, she had a career that was nothing but money and the easy life.
Born on a reservation in the desert of Las Vitona, she grew up around casinos and vice and was no stranger to the showgirls and wanted to be one all her life. She took dance classes, was a varsity cheerleader and threw away a scholarship in chearleading to be a showgirl and was so successful that she was a lead girl, dancing in 7 shows a day, 6 days a week.
Even the dance coach knew what was going to happen, but Monique wouldn't listen, and after a few minor sprains and years of wraps, ice and injections, she shattered her right ankle and dislocated her hip, ending her career.
Devastated that she could no longer dance, she slipped into a depression that lasted for years, until she got a letter in the mail from a couple of old high school friend of hers, inviting her to a bachelor/bachelorette party for their marriage.
She flew out to be there for her friends, and to enjoy a little self-destructive binge drinking--just like old times. The strippers at the end lit a fuse in Monique, seeing how bad the girl danced, and said that she could move better than this girl, even with her walking cane, and she did!
At the end, the stripper, more than embarrassed about the whole thing, spent many hours talking with Monique about what had happened with her leg and after more than a few too many drinks, convinced her to come to the Stray Kats the next night.
When she did, Monique was led directly to Lana, who offered her a job being the dancing coach for the girls. While it wasn't dancing, it was teaching her first love and since she had nothing left in Las Vitona, she accepted, teaching the sultry moves and pole dancing that the Stray Kats is famous for.
Even though she doesn't dance, she makes a little extra on the side being a waitress at the club, but that's just the work-a-holic in her.
