The case of Alain Kastler (image file attached) demonstrates the explosive potential of the CANID-20 virus to spread. Mr. Kastler contracted the virus through undergarments delivered via mail from a facility where another individual who later tested positive testified that he deliberately spread the illness, though his reasons why were poorly understood at the time. This case confirms that the CANID-20 pathogen is virulent enough to survive on fabric surfaces outside of a host for at least 14 days. Mr. Kastler would later testify that the symptoms of the infection began as a mild fever and a histamine reaction, but that the visible effects were localized near the point of contact and radiated outward from there.
Mr. Kastler is confirmed to be the link between the outbreak in Gonesse, FR and the Hovawarth Field incident, where Governor LeBeau contracted CANID-20 and made the fateful decision to lift the quarantine at a critical moment where it could still have been contained.
Looking upon this image, I do not see an 'afflicted' individual so much as a willing agent of the spread of this devastating illness. A moral degenerate. A freak. An agent of the Devil. He disgusts me.
So few remain unaffected that the remaining communities of the Pure are beginning to lose faith in a cure. Many leading doctors and pathology experts have since been taken by CANID-20. While the virus does not affect intelligence or memory, it does affect the vital parts of the human mind that insulate the individual from indulging in immoral acts, especially those of a sexual nature. This means that the work of physicians who have contracted CANID-20 cannot be trusted, for they may be conspiring to infect us in secret.
Confidentially, we are running out of time. If the Pure are to be saved, we must rely on the expertise of people who have been compromised or make use of tools that are an affront to the Lord. I do not see a pathway to defeating CANID-20, but my unyielding faith pushes me onward, though fatigue and illness bear down on me. There is a cure. I know there is. I must believe there is a way to reverse this, but first I must find a way to stop it. Until then, we must stop at nothing to keep the dogs out, even if it means destroying members of our community who show early symptoms.
God willing, the settlement will be able to hold out for another month or two."

We must all remain chaste and eat only approved food parcels, report all hair growth to the nearest Purity Official, pray away the CANID-20 with vigor, and meekly accept the thrice-daily cavity searches to ensure the cleanliness of our society. Questioning any of these procedures is unhygenic and may result in re-education via electroshock therapy.

As for the 'human' mind, Dr. Kang is referring to the psychological shift that takes place when a human is infected with the CANID-20 virus. He's an imperfect narrator, a person who fears the change in behavior because he sees it as immoral, even as he unironically advocates the murder of the infected in the next paragraph.
