Wow! Cookie is really laying down hard and cold on on Ida. Though I couldn't blame her for rejecting the poor girl, though. Ida doesn't really look like combagal material, sorry to say. She is very short and small. She in fact is shorter and smaller than Cookie. She looks very thin with frail arms and legs. Also she has those quills that may hurt people. Not to mention she seems too young, perhaps, though we do not know her proper age. Sorry, Ida. You're cute and precious though.

This show that this Cookie is a cold hearted professional, albeit she in particual.should be able to show more empathy toward those whose dream are blocked by physical limitations. And the phrasing, "you are useless to me" hint that she see her combagals as just a mean for her end objective. A fact that will bite her back in future.

Good observation. Cookie was being terrible here. She was acting rather rude, way too blunt and cold towards Ida. She doesn't seem to care that she is crushing her spirits with no mercy. It's even the more disturbing when one can again see that Ida was similar to Muko in that both were optimistic young gals wanting to be combagals so badly under Cookie. I would have hated to see what it would have been like if Muko had to seek being a combagal to this version of Cookie than the more mother-like version she actually has in the present time. And you could be right that past-Cookie could be viewing the combagals she has on board as just the means to keep her business going, and just that, not just people with strengths and weaknesses. It would be an amazing story of how she went from this cold empty snob to where she is now and how it did they way it did.

Oh but we saw it. When she hit rock bottom(and lost her amazing hair due to stress), and all her combagals turned aginst her, leaving her alone. At that point she realized that she had to change. Still soem hit of her old mean self come out here and there(she rushed muko into a match without any real training as example) but for the ksot part she try to be a better person.

Yeah, indeed, I remember. I also do remember how a couple of times before she left Muko get into fights against any sense to how weak and untrained Muko was (the first fight with Kalita at the cafe, and then Muko's first match) in fact. At least Muko was fortunate enough to get well after getting beaten up and hurt both times. Cookie may still have problems with those negative personality traits that caused her to part ways with her combagals under upsetting, tragic circumstances, particuarly with what had happened to Freydar. But as you say she tries to be better than she was before and she can't risk losing it all again.

Yeah, That may be the point behind this chapter no doubt. How her former uncaring, empty-hearted self led her to loose Freydar and the rest of her girls.

God DAYYYUM Cookie was brutal

It's kind of heartbreaking knowing that this is Cookie. This is the little squirrel who decided to become a manager because she wanted to help other girls achieve the furry fighting dreams she could not fulfill. Watching her reject Ida like that is disheartening as it shows that her success has blinded her. At this point, she doesn't care about dreams but about her own ambitions. It's a sad reminder that this point of view lead to Cookie overworking Freydar one year later.

This is kind of expected from past Cookie.Remember she tried being a combagirl herself and failed spectacularly before this so this is her living vicariously though her own combagirls which eventually led to her ruin as she cared only about winning and was willing to sacrifice anyone as long as she won. A combagirl her size is bound to piss her off at this point and she would never waste her time on anyone who could never be a champion.

Funny thing is that since combagirls are mostly staged matches with some real fights slipped between theres easily a place for smaller species though nones ever going to be popular enough with the crowd to become a belt holder.Its nice to see that in this story a good chunk of the "villains" seem to have very good reasons to be dead set against cookie and in some cases were literally made by her.

Nice analysis, i also never realized till now that the living her dream through her combagals could have been a key factor in her later fall from grace

Yeah, it seems to be a tragic irony. Cookie herself was unfit to be a combagal, so she gathered together these women to take up her dream for her instead. But in the process of doing so she makes them train hard, with Freydar, one of the greatest at wrestling ever, to train the hardest. The husky would push herself too hard enough cause a chain reaction to make herself loss her own dream to being even greater. Thus causing her to hate Cookie, and to have her and the others to abandon Cookie in turn.

I mean, Cookie's attempt to live her dream of being a combagal through others cost the dreams of another woman in turn.

I do hope there's an alternate universe where the hedgehog is one of the top wrestlers.
