Because I need MORE characters with hooves!
My art drive died over the last week. All I have to show aside from energetic (though well intentioned) scribblings is this digital muckery. I wanted to draw a deer/satyr/whatsit/person and it needed to be a girl. With sideburns. And no boobs. Obviously, I still need practice in the girl-face department; drawing female human faces seems to elude me for unknown reasons.
I imagine her standing about 3.5 feet tall and that her species' culture is rather vagabond-y. They may or may not live among my bongo-people...
This was inked traditionally with nibs and gray ink, scanned in, and colored in Photoshop.

Oh god oh god oh god-
I squeaked when I saw this. This is painfully awesome. The spur-feet are a great idea, I'm seeing them as both a running aid and a weapon. I also love her casual walk. She's just strolling along, unaware of how flailingly cool she is.
I personally love your faces, BUT I would offer one tip to shake them up: Your broad noses are a great style, but maybe try drawing smaller noses, rounder noses, turned up noses. They're a prominent feature of the face and I find even slight tweaking can make someone look totally different.

That's what I get for learning how to draw people by watching Dreamworks movies. Thanks SO much for the tip, though, seriously. Anything helps at this point.
I'm thinking the spurs will be used mostly as weapons, rather like a velociraptor's. (Will I ever be -sure- of anything about my creations?)
SO flattered that you like her! Thanks. C:

Hey, at least you do noses! I mean, as impressive as shaded dots can be, I prefer these...8'D
Ooh, I'd love to see how these guys fight. Spinning roundhouse kicks, using the spurs to hit the enemy's ankles, maybe dropping on their hands and attacking via breakdancing...

Are you thinking of doing ArtSlam again? I remember you did for a while with your Runners. I am...seriously thinking of giving it a shot. I have so many things that need more development. YESSSSS. A DAY TO THINK ON THIS.

DO IT DO IT DO IT. I feel like a missionary who only knows two words. It was a fantastic community project, and I wouldn't have fleshed out the runners/insuti nearly so much as I did, had I not participated (goddam sentence structure, I'm going to sleep after this). I'm playing with my bongos this year. C:
