(Don't kill me for uploading humany things; Indigogo sez I should b/c it shows variety or something. Also, I like wingthings.)
It's Mai-chan! :D
Mai here's a young and amazingly naive Avariel priestess-come-Healer who saw a solitary egret across the sacred pools one misty morning sunrise and took this as a Sign from Aerdrie Foenya (Elven Goddess of Air and Weather). Taking flight, she followed the bird across the glades and sheltered waters of her people crossing well into Human lands before her guide mysteriously vanished (here the author categorically denies reports of ravenous crocodiles) and her path crossed with a wandering band of adventurers in the picturesque Valley of the Damned. Said adventurers had no Cleric or Herbalist to speak of and were badly in need of the services of a Healer, and welcomed Mai into their ranks immediately after learning the elf had no concept of money or treasure, valued magical items only insofar as they helped keep her friends alive, and was about as capable of guile as a fuzzy yellow chick.
To this day, Mai believes it is her Goddess' will to keep her companions alive. (And, hey, they're currently charged with retrieving three lost sacred Artifacts and vanquishing a world-imperiling Evil, so they could use all the help they can get...)
Her party tolerates this behavior predominantly because Mai's arrival marked the end of an alarming trend of glass mages. ('Tis a grand thing when wizards last long enough in a fight to sling a few Fireballs instead of just bleeding quietly on the tunnel floor...)
Micron inks on sketchbook paper, colored in PhotoShop. I was gonna make the background clouds all fancy and paint away more of those pesky linearts, but I'm using a trackpad here and I can only crash PS so many times before I start contemplating the lift-drag ratio of an unladen MacBook. :)
...Anyways. Decided to take a break from commissions and finish this, since it's been sitting half-finished on my hard drive for the better part of a year now.
Certifiably
