Let never a man a wooing went that lacked things three;
A store of gold, an open heart
And full of charity.
And this was said of King Henry, though he lay quite alone,
For he's taken him to a haunted hall, seven miles from the town.
A store of gold, an open heart
And full of charity.
And this was said of King Henry, though he lay quite alone,
For he's taken him to a haunted hall, seven miles from the town.

There's an English folksong about a king who goes hunting, spends the night in a haunted hall, and confronts the ghost who haunts the place. The lyrics reminded me a little of Beowulf, which is an old Anglo-Saxon epic in which a hero shows up to help a king whose hall is haunted by a vengeful monster.
