I know the pose is awkward, but it's just to make sure his markings are visible
I'm not really one to give OCs full-on redesigns, because I like to keep them more or less consistent for my sake and for the sake of others who might be drawing them, but I've been mulling over redesigning my very old OC David for a really long while, and decided to finally settle on something. When I designed him years ago (like 2015?), it was a very quick design since he was just an NPC character I didn't care much about, and the colours and markings I gave him were like, really uninspired, I basically just botched up a natural lemur design and called it a day
And then I started using him more, aaaand I grew to hate these colours and markings for how bland and basic they were, I really wanted to give him something more. I only liked a few things from his design, like his ears, his muzzle, elbow dots and his vibrant eye colour. It kinda got to the point where even when I *wanted* to draw him, I'd take a look at him and go "....but he's so boring, though."
So that was kind of the point where I went "Ok no I **have to change him**" 8D
I was gonna make him completely different coloured at first, blue and green, because I drew him in a palette like that once and liked it a lot, but after drawing him like that, me and some of my friends thought it... wasn't really David anymore
But I liked the markings I made for that blue version, so I kept those! They're a bit complicated, but I'm really fond of them ;-; Especially the asymmetrical hands, and the dumb frosted hair tips. And his colours are still brown, but have much more warmth to them and I keep saying that but he looks like a hot chocolate drink now and iiiiii love it
i'm just... a fan of asymmetrical markings and OCs with many-toned designs in general
The outfit colours I could take or not, to be honest. Outfits don't bother me much since you can always just buy new clothes. I'm just glad I'm happy with his fur now <3
